OT: James Gunn Mega thread

While you were gone I came across a few people and thought for a moment maybe that poelzig guy isn’t the biggest douche on this site after all, but nah.

I totally value your opinion, guy who doesn’t know anything about guitar playing and wouldn’t even be able to play a Blink-182 song on guitar after hours of practice. But what makes me value your opinion even more is the fact that you’re the kind of person who would imply an entire fanbase are pedophiles (“I told y'all there was something creepy about the way mcu fans like to hang out in theaters with kids all the time didn't I?”) just because they don’t like the movies that fanbase like. That’s definitely the kind of person whose opinion matters.

Yeah that is strange. Makes me wonder if the MCU was against Disney's decision. No comments from the rest of the MCU cast as well that I know of, outside the GOTG cast of course.

Exactly. Gunn made countless child-rape comments about him enjoying to rape children or him enjoying children being sexually assaulted (by animals etc); and Gunn endorsed convicted pedophiles and Nambla.

Any reasonable reader will interpret this as joking/comments done by a pedophile. Like someone constantly "joking" about him degrading Jews and endorsing anti-semites will likely be an anti-semite himself.  If Gunn is not a pedophile, he may be something even more psychopathic. 

In the end his motivation is irrelevant, the acts are what they are. Lest we forget, a few examples excluding fisting comments or race, whore-murder & holocaust jokes:

Imagine defending someone with those comments. Sick!



The only thing Disney could do in the situation was to fire Gunn for his comments. It should've been done.

To me making pro child rape jokes is less despicable then showing support for an actual Child Rapist, so with this precedent there should be more firing. Everyone that came out in support of an actual proved, plead guilty, child drugging rapist, Roman Polanski, should be fired from their current work. 

Disney should scrap the new Mary Poppins movie because of Meryl Streep.

Although Natalie Portman has since said she regrets signing the petition and has apologized for it Fox Searchlight should fire her from Pale Blue Dot.

I started out thinking it would be sarcastic, but the more I thought about it the more I agreed. If I could've killed the man who molested my sister for 3 years I would've. (I didn't know until I was 19) Luckily he died from a power cable accident when I was 13. He lost an arm and he died screaming after a week in ICU from 3rd degree burns.
