As far as the internet is concerned it doesn't really matter when the statements were made, they're all there for the world to see at any time and any place, and no amount of apologizing whether in the past or recently can convince every person and make things right in their mind. Just sayin'. It seems that as far as the cast of the GotG movies are concerned, it does make a difference, since these guys seem to genuinely believe that Gunn has in fact changed. If Barr can prove that she’s able to change for the better, she should also be forgiven. At the end of the day what Disney most concerned about is their image - They want to present a family friendly environment that welcomes all walks of life, and having somebody who brings a certain level of controversy is not strongly desired. As far as they're concerned it doesn't matter if Gunn was only joking or how much he has changed as a person since, and it doesn't matter if Roseanne Barr's tweet on Valerie Jarret was intended to be something much different than what a lot of people perceived it as being - They don't want to take the risk. |

This is getting pretty ridiculous. Gunn made very inappropriate and questionable attempts at humor in the past and it came up and bit him in the ass years later and Disney fired him. What's done is done, if Disney suddenly decides to re-hire him then they might as well re-hire Roseanne Barr and turn The Connors into the next season of Roseanne (Mind you, what Gunn wrote was much, much worse than Barr had which cost her her show). I understand he's a good friend and everything, business is business. They can easily find another director to take over Vol 3 and who knows? They might even do a better job than Gunn did with the other two movies for all we know. As much as I condemn Disney for their unjust firing of Gunn... I have to admit that rehiring him is just not the right move. It's just going to get messier if they go that route. The best thing for them to do is simply give him a decent severance pay and call it quits... like what most companies do. It wasn't an unjust firing. Gunn is a creepy, sicko pedophile. |

The GotG cast doesn't believe that Gunn has changed any more than Patriots fans believe that Shady Brady didn't order the deflation of the footballs or Julian PEDelman didn't take PEDs. The GotG cast wants Gunn back because they know that without Gunn, GotG3 will most likely be cancelled and they'll all be out of a big paycheck. |

Oh wow they got Vin and Bradley? I didn't expect those two to comment on the controversy. My feelings aside, it's nice to see the cast rally behind Gunn. Disney should fire the entire cast of GotG for supporting a scumbag pedophile like Gunn. |

GOTG Vol. 3 will still get made regardless of whether or not James Gunn directs, they can easily find a replacement to take over. |

It's not like they are saying "have James Gunn direct or we're out", they are saying that his jokes from yesteryear do not reflect him as an individual that he has come a long ways since those days when he was a quirky, independent content creator. And again, where is the evidence that Gunn is what you describe him as being? Off-collar Twitter jokes are not evidence. Evidence would be if somebody came forward with an allegation and was found 100% right in a court of law. |

He worked for and signed a petition in support of Roman Polanski after he fled the States. As did many other big names. Or everyone who worked with Victor Salva after his conviction came to light. Including Francis Ford Coppola who employed him after. People who have supported two actual pedos. See the can of worms your kneejerk reaction opens? |
