Did I kill the thread?Or are all you Gunn haters out there destroying any apple products you may own because I'm sorry, but joking about pedophilia on the internet vs forcing your daughter to stay so you can pet your wife or talk to your 9 yr old to the point she was uncomfortable is far, far worse.
no, you didn't Merh. But you are guilty of playing down and trying to normalize child rape by deflection.
1. J Gunn's behavior is not excused by any other creeps doing other things (here: unproven allegations btw contrary to Gunn).
2. J Gunn did not just joke he made countless child rape and abuse comments and endorsed convicted pedos pals and Nambla in public. He made pedo-themed pics and videos where he talked about anally raping his daughter.
I understand he apologized & deleted the stuff.
Unfortunately nothing is ever truly deleted on the internet.
He has a daughter?
I haven't found record of such...
He was married from 2000-2008. Divorced. These comments were made 2009-2010.
So raping fictional people is real now?
I saw Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) in a theater when it first came out, and it was so gritty and dark I felt sick to my stomach for a couple of days afterwards - like the evil of it stuck to my soul. Part of what was so frightening was Rooker, Michael's incredible performance. We normally distance ourselves from villains, but I almost felt for him as Henry. The last thing you want to do is identify with a serial killer. That's scarier than anything jumping out of the corner of a film frame.
So that made an impact on him.
Someone writes these stories.
I love M.
Lorre is amazing, but heaven forbid one see him as his character in real life.
Yet he managed it.
Was he a child killer?
He pulled it off.
By the way you speak, he must have experience.
I don't usually watch drama.
I get enough real life in my real life.
But sometimes I do watch stuff that is disquieting.
Mother was unsettling.
Rescue Me was a train wreck one wants to not see, but can't turn away. I didn't finish the show. Made it to Season 3? 4? The characters were ugly in many ways.
So where does fantasy end?
Do we ban artists from writing stories about abuse because they portray people being abused?
This was a huge debate in the manga community I associated with a decade ago. Is possessing a manga where a child is raped rape? Didnt the UN come out against it?
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (commonly abbreviated as the CRC or UNCRC) is a human rights treaty which sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. The Convention defines a child as any human being under the age of eighteen, unless the age of majority is attained earlier under national legislation
Was this it?
Damn.
I haven't thought about that in awhile.
So we infringe on an artist's right to tell a story?
What about that vampire story?
Rice's. Never read it. Never watched the entire movie, but there is a child vampire that is centuries old.
3. Take this where he bloged and later tweeted: " ...a story about a monkey jerking off on a boy, and his cum splash-landed directly on the kid...screaming and freaking out commenced - I know this might be sick, but this story makes me EXTREMELY HAPPY"
How is this a joke, merh? Where is the set up and punch line? Does happy equal funny? And even if it was a joke, who would be made "extremely happy" by the humiliation of a child with cum in the face...pedos I guess.
But it is apparently fiction.
Whatever his reason for writing it-& I strongly suspect shock value-he has the right to exercise those demons.
If a male told you stories like this, would you let him near your baby daughter, or even your cat...? Ask yourself that.
If Child Protective shows up on your doorstep, make sure you have milk in the fridge.
For all our current leader's love of the term "witch hunt", he doesn't begin to understand the term.
CPS is.
Pissed at your ex?
Call CPS.
Hate your neighbor?
Call CPS.
Childcare workers love calling CPS.
Took my child to Nightmare Before Christmas several times when it came out (she turned 3, but I lied & said she was 2 so she was free)-she says 8 times. I remember 5. She might be right.
She loved the bad guys back then. Scar in Lion King. Oogie Boogie in Nightmare Before Christmas.
3 yr olds aren't the clearest speakers. She was "performing" Oogie's song only they didnt hear "You're joking, you're joking, I can't believe my ears. You're joking me, you gotta be"
CPS showed up to investigate someone choking my child.
She said so.
No one really seemed to see that movie back in 1993.
So, yeah.
I don't do hysterics, Tristan
Because there were a couple more times.
Not that my child was abused.
Stupid misunderstandings.
My child was eating corn on the cob & the little holders kept falling off so I told her to just hold it with her fingers. My mother-in-law went into some thing about she'll be eating with her fingers when she's 16 but I told my child to just go on. The hamburger my mother-in-law had been eating wizzed past my head & hit the sink as my mother-in-law stormed out of the room
Ding-dong.
CPS had a report someone threw a hammer at my child (who had been sitting to my right across from the mother-in-law so yeah, the burger flew between us).
So I am a bit sensitive about false accusations.
I don't like this "have you now or have you ever been a communist" crap.
I don't like chucking babies out with the bath water.
These people need to live.
My clients are convicted felons.
They NEED to find work or they will fall back to old ways.
The way you talk, they might as well all just die. They have no part in society, right?
People can't change.
They will be the same forever & ever & ever.
They don't make mistakes so they never need to be forgiven & given a second chance.
Sorry.
I can't be that closed minded.
