no, you didn't Merh. But you are guilty of playing down and trying to normalize child rape by deflection.

1. J Gunn's behavior is not excused by any other creeps doing other things (here: unproven allegations btw contrary to Gunn).

2. J Gunn did not just joke he made countless child rape and abuse comments and endorsed convicted pedos pals and Nambla in public. He made pedo-themed pics and videos where he talked about anally raping his daughter.

3. Take this where he bloged and later tweeted: " ...a story about a monkey jerking off on a boy, and his cum splash-landed directly on the kid...screaming and freaking out commenced - I know this might be sick, but this story makes me EXTREMELY HAPPY"

How is this a joke, merh? Where is the set up and punch line? Does happy equal funny? And even if it was a joke, who would be made "extremely happy" by  the humiliation of a child with cum in the face...pedos I guess.

If a male told you stories like this, would you let him near your baby daughter, or even your cat...?  Ask yourself that.

Isn't this one of the main reasons for the disagreement over what Gunn is or how he should be treated.  What is funny?  You don't see what is funny about what he said (partly because of how the joke is constructed), but some "jokes" are just getting reactions to the most shocking thin you can say.  In Britain Jerry Sadowitz made a carreer of this.  To a lesser extent Frankie Boyle has.  Sasha Baron Cohen's latest series touches on these subjects.  Not necessarily constructed the same.   It may not be a "joke" as you see it.  The subject may be off limits.  But it is a post that was aimed at Gunn's followers, people in all likliehood that share his humour or "get" joke.  Is it an attempt to shock or an admission of pedophilia.  It's how you do (or want) to interpret what he said.  Intention be damned.

You don't find "racoon turds" funny (Christ knows you go on about it enough), but I was in a theatre full of people that did.  People find racist jokes funny. Homophobic jokes.  Slapstick.  9/11 Jokes.  Shakespeare comedies.  Funny to some, not for others.  Offensive for some, not to others.  

If he is a pedophile and committed a criminal act then send him down.  But telling a joke or making a shock statement for "humorous" purposes, is not an admission of committing that act.

in many jurisdictions jokes about child rape or "spreading the cause" are a type of hate crime that will get you (conditionally) fined or even imprisoned. With good reason. Child rape, holocaust denial or racism are no-goes. claiming it was just a joke will not help. It never did.

But that is not what this is about: In the US comments or photos such as Gunn's are not punishable under criminal law. This is a (civil law) contract termination issue only. Can a family company who is selling family-product terminate a top contractor who publicly made countless pro child rape comments and rape fantasie during and before the conclusion, someone who already had to apolozise for other depraved blog content before?

Legal answer: Yes, they seem just to have to pay a 10M severance payment.

Moral answer: Absolutely. "Indefensible".

Business answer: Yes, cut out the malignant cancer asap. You do not know what is still comming. 

Artistic answer: Yes, he is a hack and replaceable.

That simple. The rest is fanboy whining.
