There is no but. Hes a public figure and with a big following. He has to pay the price. Yep. He's supposed to be a role model for all the kiddies who watch MCU movies. Good point. He should have been especially self aware because of his kid audience. Hes not a Tarantino who does mature films and can be controversial here and there.

Then you should never be the chef your own company, if you refused to fire people who does disgusting things. Lol. I guess you know nothing about professional etiquette, corporate rules and what it means to be a manager.

He made bad taste jokes. Pretty big difference.

Wait a film director is supposed to be a role model for the kids? Since when? If that director directs kiddie comedy movies for Disney (like GotG and GotG2) and that director shows up at Comic-Con to promote those kiddie comedy movies to kids, then yes the kids who watch those kiddie comedy movies look up to that director as a role model.

There's no rule that states that a film maker has to be a role model to anyone, let alone kids.

Athletes, musicians, and actors are supposed to be role models for some reason. If the actions of one of these idiots causes you to also act like an idiot, then blame yourself or your parents. This is entertainment, not life. I am my kid's role model, not some Director. Disney is mad about something someone said years ago. They should look into the mirror at some of their old films and get back to me.

Mr Gunn did not just make pedophilia & rape jokes about rapist and pedophiles. He made dozens of creepy remarks about HIM raping children, or HIM enjoying to watch kids being disturbed by sexual offences against them. This is different, and bejond sick and psychopathic.
Only a complete moron or a pedophile would ever defend a man like that. It's the usual suspects.
Gunn getting fired is hopefully just the beginning of something bigger. This sorry creature should not have come near writing any major films for children in the first place, let alone spread his depraved misogyny and penis, turd and nipples humor unhindered.

You're saying you did a search on every social media outlet for every comment each and every employee that works for you ever made? Criminal record searches? and psychological evaluations to determine where every one of your employees mental state fall regarding every issue there is to be offended about?
Yeah right!!!

There's no rule that states that a film maker has to be a role model to anyone, let alone kids. It's an unwritten rule, like these: 1. Thou shall not steal someone else's parking space when they were there waiting for it first. 2. When thou gets out of the theater after watching a 2 and 1/2 hour movie and goes to the restroom, thou shall not cut in line.

Athletes, musicians, and actors are supposed to be role models for some reason. They don't have to be role models. But they do represent their employer. So when an athlete signs a contract to play for a pro team, he represents that team. If he does or sys something that goes against that team's principles or values, then the team can fire him. Same with movie directors who sign to direct a movie for a movie studio. They represent the movie studio. If they do or say something that goes against the studio's principles or values, then the studio can fire them. Gunn deserved to be fired and MCU Dictator Kevin Feige should also be fired for hiring that scumbag Gunn in the 1st place.
