No, I thought the films were a lot of fun.
James Gunn was a bold pick for Disney. They generally try to maintain a squeaky clean image and bringing him in would be like if the Partridge Family brought in Iggy Pop. I don't doubt that they knew exactly what they were getting; I think they just hoped nobody else would notice.
I've still got no problem with the guy. I don't mind warped senses of humor. But I'm also not surprised his tenure with Disney was brief.
