Aj_June AFTER you watch The African Queen .. a really fun read is Katharine Hepburn's account of making the film: She writes just as she talks and it is a FUNNY book as well as a documentation of the film making process. Thanks Bat for the very good recommendation. I finally got to see The African Queen and enjoyed a lot!
**Spoilers ahead for those who have not watched**
Must say that the film kept moving at such a good pace that I never felt like taking a break (I usually take a lot of breaks). But the ending was amazing. The twist really fooled me. I was prepared to see them die and then the African Queen came drifting. I guess the comic parts were superb. Like Hepburn calling Bogart "dear" for the first time. Or Bogart's rough manners. Great acting by both of them.
But sadly now I have watched all the major movies of Bogart. I guess I have to hope his less famous movies also entertain me.
