There are 3 differing tones to MCU movies relatively speaking
A) Dialogue and plot heavy driven movies with sporadic humour thats not cheesy and compelling villains, likes of Iron man 1, Civil War and Winter Soldier
B) Full on comedies with lots of kiddy humour and lighthearted minimal stakes like GotG, Antman and Ragnarok
C) A middle ground between the 2, some drama involved but also a good amount of cheesy laughs and quips with lots of BATHOS humour. Like Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange and Avengers
So what style do people want the first Disney xmen to be or do they not care and would settle for any

My ideal tone is something along the lines of Winter Soldier and Infinity War.
Basically where it's taken seriously, but has moments of humor.

The tone depends on the characters/story.
I just want good movies.

Depends on the story and characters involved, but in general I'd choose A. Honestly I'll settle for a creative team that understands and respects the source material. Oh, and an ounce of continuity from one film to the next would be fantastic as well.

Well I'd want them to go with A and that is probably what they will go with for the most part.
Probably having some humour here and there as they did in the comics with the younger members like Ice Man.

The average MCU movie falls in category A anyway. IM, IM2, IH, Thor, CATFA, Thor TDW, IM3, TWS, CW, BP, IW... they are all variations of category A. So most likely the X-men movies will have a similar tone.

I prefer True Tone, like on the iPad. The film should shift hues depending on the ambient lighting conditions.

So what style do people want the first Disney xmen to be or do they not care and would settle for any Personally, I think X-Men movies should be a tad darker than your average MCU movie, even if the MCU absorbs them into their universe. The X-Men are mutants and because of that are "feared and hated". That fear and hatred of people, who by no fault of their own are what they are, but still lay down their lives to defend those that fear and hate them, is what X-Men is all about. It's what the last few X-movies have forgotten to get back to. In order to do the right thing they suffer for people who would rather see them dead. That's kinda deep and its also kinda dark.
So do I think that MCU can have X-Men in their universe? Sure. But I hope they retain a bit more depth in their X-movies.

there is only one tone for a legit great xmen film.
serious, adult themematical, grounded, director driven, art, soap opera.
TDK, X2, Logan , DOFP , X1 tone.
MCU X-MEN is an embarrassment waiting to happen.

Might it be that his own erstwhile fandom is light, weak and now --- officially obsolete? After the next two Fox-Men movies are released, what will there be to discuss? Two decades of the almighty TONE! Hee hee hee...
