] You should be more respectful of awhinas beliefs. Who are you to put words into Gods mouth? Jesus never said those things, you blaspheme.

] Sigh, I never said he didn't. But as I said love is not licence. Jesus didn't say "party on dudes" he said "go and sin no more".

Who are you to put words into Gods mouth? Jesus never said those things, you blaspheme. To haters of Christianity it's not 'blasphemy', I see their point, but it is disrespect and ridicule nevertheless. I think it's tasteless and a lack of basic consideration for others. This kind of thing has been going on for years unchallenged and in very much a one-sided way. Most forums and discussion boards I've seen (en)force "respect" and "tolerance" heavily, except of course in most cases when it comes to mocking Christianity. Christians or so-called 'Christians' haven't done much about it either. But heaven forbid you make fun of blacks, the 'holocaust' or homosexuals, for example. All hell breaks loose. Otherwise usually it's pretty much 'radio silence' except from the loud voices of the mockers themselves.

If I am mocking anything, it is your bigotry.

Good point. I try to not use the word "gay". Why on Earth not Because I am not a fan of euphemism. For the same reason that I say toilet and die instead of "restroom" and "pass away".

Of course Jesus loves gay people as much as anyone else but not their behaviour / addiction. Actually, Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, so you cannot say that Jesus disapproved of homosexual behavior. You can only extrapolate that Jesus MAY HAVE felt one way or another based on the written words of others - but since Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, how would anyone else know his thoughts on it? Also, everyone needs to realize that the political atmosphere that the different books of the bible were written in (written by men, mind you) would have dictated what was put in and included in the bible. So, to truly understand anything the bible says, you would need to have a firm understanding of history - specifically the historical atmosphere the men who wrote the bible were living in. This includes the men who presided over the countless re-writes of the bible - such as King James.

This includes the men who presided over the countless re-writes of the bible - such as King James. Different translations are not "re-writes". Just because the way something is expressed changes doesn't mean that the meaning changes. Jesus is Lord and as God he disapproved of homosexuality. That remains true after his return to Heaven. Silence doesn't mean consent, so that his not mentioning homosexuality doesn't mean he approved of it.
