DC went 14 years until they made a solo female superhero movie. It took Marvel 7 years with Elektra The Supergirl movie was in 1984, just 6 years after Superman: The Movie. Marvel had Howard the Duck in 1986. It took them 19 years to make their first solo female superhero movie, Elektra in 2005. And they had the first female CBM director as well....oh wait they didn't, that was Lexi Alexander with Punisher:Warzone in 2008. Punisher: War Zone was a small-budget movie. Patty Jenkins is the first woman to direct a big-budget superhero movie. And that movie wasn't Thor: The Dark World, since MCU Dictator Kevin Feige doesn't like having female leads in MCU movies or female directors directing MCU movies. Even with Captain Marvel, MCU Dictator Kevin Feige made sure that his first female director has a male director to report to because MCU Dictator Kevin Feige doesn't like having women in charge.

Typical DC-Fan behavior trying to make someone involved with the MCU look bad. No basis whatsoever for his claim that Kevin Feige has something against women.

No basis whatsoever for his claim that Kevin Feige has something against women. Except for the fact that MCU Dictator Kevin Feige hasn't made a solo female-led movie in 10 years and 20 movies and MCU Dictator Kevin Feige has never let a female Director have sole control over an MCU movie. The 1 time that MCU Dictator Kevin had a female Director with sole control over an MCU movie was when Patty Jenkins was directing Thor: The Dark World, but MCU Dictator Kevin Feige got rid of Patty Jenkins because she wanted creative control over the movie and MCU Dictator Kevin Feige couldn't have that.
You see, MCU Dictator Kevin Feige wanted Patty Jenkins to be just a figurehead, but Patty Jenkins had ideas of her own on how to make a better moive and MCU Dictator Kevin Feige couldn't have that. So MCU Dictator Kevin Feigegot rid of Patty Jenkins and hasn't allowed a female Director to have sole control over an MCU movie again.
Feige hired a female Director for Captain marvel just to quiet the SJWs, but Feige made sure that there would be a male Director who would be in charge and whom she would report to because Feige doesn't like women in charge and can't have a female Director with sole control over an MCU movie.

None of that proves that Feige has anything against women. Also it’s not like Marvel has a female character anywhere near as iconic as Wonder Woman, so it’s understandable why it took them so long to make a solo female-led movie. Also the fact that you can’t say Kevin Feige’s name without including “MCU Dictator” before it makes you sound like a fucking 13 year old. Just saying. You really need to grow up.

5. Hmm. Didn't notice the green and black part. That's odd. I think Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel would be more comparable though. And as excited as I am for Captain Marvel, I'd be really surprised if it was better than Wonder Woman, or even made more money than WW.
I think Captain Marvel has a good chance of topping WW's Box Office. Wonder Woman wasn't really that big a deal outside the USA with exception of a couple of countries. Whereas it seems seems is a way stronger brand than DC outside the US. Domestically it might not beat it though. Possibly. I think it's going to do GotG vol 1 numbers but it might do something like Ragnarok or totally surprise me and go full-on Black Panther.

Doubtful Captain Marvel will get close to Black Panther numbers. Brothers unite better than women do. Brothers united to get Obama elected POTUS and brothers united to get Black Panther high BO numbers. But women couldn't unite to get Hillary elected POTUS and they won't unite to get Captain Marvel high BO numbers. For most women, the only female superhero they know about and care about is Wonder Woman, and Wonder Woman was able to successfully tap into that demographic (Wonder Woman is the 1st CBM with an audience that was a majority of women) but doubtful any other female superhero will be able to do that since women generally don't watch CBMs.

DC as a company had nothing to do with Supergirl...the character was bought and developed by someone else. Ditto Howard The Duck. Narrow down the parameters as much as you like...fact is Marvel had a female director before DC

Also, I think I should point out that Niki Caro almost directed ‘Captain Marvel’, but backed out because she ended up directing ‘Mulan’. Don’t be surprised if Marvel tries to hire again eventually. Also, did DC-Fan forget about ‘Black Widow’ director being a woman?

If the rumors are true, Feige had a meeting with 10 female directors.
So it's possible that we'll see more women making films for Marvel Studios.
Not that anyone will care since it'll be drowned out with the whole "SJW'S ARE FORCING WOMEN INTO OUR MOVIES!!! I'M SCARED!!!"

That doesn’t prove he has anything against women. If Wonder Woman hadn’t been directed by a woman you wouldn’t even be saying any of that shit. maybe Feige was "out of town", like he was with Gunn, whenever the female lead and direction issue was discussed.
MCU fans blame MCU's infamous negative record on a person called Ike Perlmutter, bona fide female-lead sceptic per definitionem: www.indiewire.com/2015/05/marvel-ceo-doesnt-believe-in-female-superheroes-203801/
Maybe brave Feige was really out of town again, taking a swim in that very kiddy pool where he once hit that fabled raccoon turd giving him his grand vision of a MCU...only this time with some females but without Ike or Gunn.

the honor for being the first veritable CBM ensemble piece goes to Fox-Men, not DC or MCU. Arguably, X2 as it truly is an ensemble piece with no clear lead, X1 had Wolverine as lead. Those are still the best examples of ensemble well done, with every character nuanced and being different.

I liked the idea of having a movie with all the MCU female characters, which I believe they were planning for? I just can't figure out how they're going to get together without messing up continuity.

Marvel had a female director before DC Marvel had a female director for a small-budget movie. It's like saying a baseball player is great because he hit .400 in the minor leagues or a football player is great because he's the best QB in college football. It's still minor leagues and it's still college football, which isn't as prestigious as the major leagues or the NFL. Only 6 women have been sole directors of a movie with a $100+ million budget, and only 1 of those 6, Patty Jenkins) was the sole director of a CBM. WB is the 1st and still ONLY CBM studio that was willing to take a huge risk and let a female director have sole directorial control over a 100+ million CBM.
