Do you consider yourself a spiritual person? And if so, what does that mean to you? How do you define your spirit?

Do you consider yourself a spiritual person? And if so, what does that mean to you? How do you define your spirit? I've always considered "spiritual" to be something of a nonsense word. There seems to be no common definition of it, and it's my experience that those who talk about it are all talking about subtly different things, or sometimes wildly different things. The best I can come up with is that "spiritual" refers to a form of existence that is neither matter, nor energy, nor anything emerging from them. A form of existence which, alas, there is no evidence for the existence of. Although that's kind of spoiled by the fact that many people will claim that the spirit world does indeed have energy, for instance. Only they don't seem to be talking about anything that I understand by that word, since "energy" is "the potential to do work". And many people will claim that elements of the spirit world can interact with matter... but only sometimes, and in ill-defined ways. At about this time I just shrug, conclude that we're talking about something that means both everything and nothing, and walk away.

To me it is the essence of the parts of my existence that I don't and can't understand.
So, yes I am spiritual because I am constantly seeking knowledge and meaning in my life.

A word Goths use to describe drinking weak lager and cider while hanging round graveyards.

Meaning can have many different interpretations and these are intangible and abstract. I like to see it as about seeking wisdom and purpose, or awareness about and in my life...within\without. Knowledge can be dangerous if not used wisely, but I get what you are saying. Knowledge can never be dangerous in and of itself, butt yes it does depend how you use it. Yes, meaning in life is THE most personal of things, as are the concepts of wisdom and purpose. Awareness is just being conscious. It is how you perceive your awareness in context with your environment that is the important thing.

All energy is, is vibration. Everything operates from vibration, regardless of how subtle. What is external is internal and vice versa. Vibe is also about natural instinct and intuition. See, this is the kind of thing I mean. I'm sure that made sense to you, but it conveyed very little to me. The best I can think of is that if a physical object vibrates then it has kinetic energy? But for instance, I am currently in an upstairs room of my house. When I walked up the stairs my muscles converted chemical energy into kinetic energy and then into gravitational potential energy in my body. In what way is gravitational potential energy "vibration"?

Something to found in the bottom of a whiskey bottle. I prefer the term holistic or even wholistic, even just plain self-awareness. It encompasses connectedness to each and everything. It is not about separation or compartmentalizing. It is all one and whole and complete. Spirituality can invoke all sorts of fraudulent religious connotations. “Spiritual”, lol.

Potential energy is a term created to describe the behaviour of objects. It's part of a model of how reality works; we observe that gravitational fields and objects within them behave in certain ways and we created the concept of gravitational potential energy to explain this behaviour. So in that sense it is clear that they do exist because we do indeed see gravitational fields behaving in that way. Put simply, if I drop a pen it falls. Gravitational potential energy is part of a model of why. We know it exists because it's demonstrable that the pen does fall.

In what way is gravitational potential energy "vibration"? It is all resonance. Even the wood on the stairs has vibration. All the 5 elements have an action attributed to them and this is just the science of the universe. Stillness, Movement, Transformation, Fluidity and Cohesion. All of these elements are contained in what we see as our external world and the internal world. There is only wholeness. Is the space inside, outside or all around everywhere? I don't know what any of that means. 1) What is all resonance? 2) The wood on the stairs has a resonant frequency, yes. Is that what you mean? Gravitational potential energy does not have a resonance as it is not a physical object. 3) There are more than 5 elements. There are, that we know of, 92 naturally occurring ones and 20 or 30 artificial ones. 4) Stillness and movement are different degrees of the same thing. 5) What is an "internal world"? ...and none of that explains in what way the gravitational potential energy of my body is "vibration".

Vibration is resonance, is it not? Even impact could be another tag to place on it, regardless of how strong or subtle it is. Even your own body and movement is energy and vibration. The vibration of you moving your legs and feet through the air, and the impact of your foot on the stair. Even the wood breathes. I don't know what this means. I don't know what this means. No, it is not.
I don't know that this means.

X exists = x is instantiated, x obtains, x occurs, x is present, etc. Or in relation to concepts, the concept of x picks out something in the external world. Re it being a model, we could just as well say that God is an explanatory model. Does God exist, though, or is it just a convenient fiction, a placeholder for something else that will eventually supplant it as a better, more accurate explanation (that does pick out something that obtains externally)?

Thanks for that link I will have a read through it. I hope you do. Uh huh. As I said originally - people who talk about "spirituality" often refer to "energy", but they seem to mean something very different from "the potential to do work", which is what I was taught that word means. It's not limited to spirituality, though. A lot of people use "energy" in strange ways that seem, to me, to indicate that they don't actually know what it means.

But it's not a useful one, as it doesn't really explain anything, isn't falsifiable, and doesn't allow testable predictions. But if you can come up with a model of god that meets those criteria, I'm all for it.

Wisdom is the truth.
I disagree. A thing can be wise but not true. Consider for instance the adage common in gun safety circles - "the gun is always loaded." This is a wise adage. It is a good thing to act according to it. Yet it is not actually true - the gun is, in fact, not always loaded.
