It's a good movie, but it's not in my top 100.

Cinema has two camps.
Melies(fantasy) on one hand, Lumiere(realism) on the other. I think the Melies camp is the more intuitively attractive of the two, so films which push the boundaries of fantasy will gravitate to the top.
100 films of all time is a little too subjective depending on what criteria you use for including it. It's in my top 60 favorite movies list. I rank it in the top five comic book superhero movies of all time though.

More like an honorable mention.

I dunno, honestly. I've never tried to sit down and come up with a top 100 list. I think it's a great movie, I guess I'd put it up there, but I really couldn't say for sure.

I'm not sure I could do a top 100 list. How are you supposed to legit differentiate between your 56th favourite movie and your 57th for example? Plus it changes all the time so it would be more pointless than anything.
I do like Robocop but I'm guessing that I'd have 100 other movies I'd rate above it, although I reckon it would be close.

It doesn't even make it into my Top 1000 favorite movies list.

Since it is one of the few movies that I have abandoned part way through, regret seeing what I did see of it and would never watch again … no way !

One of the greatest action movies ever made. An absolute classic.
Top best 100 generally? Probably not. Top best 100 genre movies? You bet, right next to Nolan's Batman.

I fleshed out a personal top 100 on the old board. I wish I could remember if I had robocop on it. If I get bored I’ll do that list again.

If I composed a list of my Top 100 movies there's a chance Robocop might make the list. And even if it did it would likely be in the bottom of the list, like #95 or something.
But nevertheless, it is a very good action flick.

It's within my Top 104 movies simply because there are only 104 movies that I scored a 7.5-8/10 or higher out of the 2,200+ total movies I have seen.
so with that said, to answer the OP's question... Yes, it's most likely within my Top 100 movies as I imagine I could probably take it over at least four other movies within my Top 104. hence, it would likely make my Top 100 movies of all-time.

Primemovermithrax Pejorative lumping movies into two groups of Realism vs Fantasy ill say the following... looking at the movies I score the highest, lets use my 9/10's and 10/10's, I am clearly in favor of the Realism over the Fantasy stuff (see below). so basically when I look at all movies I gave a 9/10 or 10/10 it breaks down pretty much like this... -Realism = 22 movies (88%) (maybe 20 movies (80%) at the lowest) -Fantasy = 3 movies (12%) (maybe 5 movies (20%) at the most) NOTE: all eight of my 10/10's are more of the Realism than Fantasy as only about three of the remaining seventeen movies, which make up my 9/10's, would be of the Fantasy aspect. I am confident you would agree with my numbers above if you seen my Top 25 movies which, if you care, you can see by clicking My Favorite Movies and look at the first 25 movies listed. like even if you did not come to the exact 22 Realism vs 3 Fantasy figure, it would surely be very close to that given it's pretty easy for me to tell a lot of those seem pretty clear cut towards the Realism aspect and only three (or maybe barely more than that at the most) would be enough fantasy to consider apart of the Fantasy group. even going back to my Top 50-ish movies, which contains 55 movies I score a SOLID 8/10 or higher, the stats don't shift much and comes out to about... -Realism = 44 (80%) -Fantasy = 11 (20%) NOTE: there is possibly a little more if I was being generous towards the Fantasy category but I tend to keep things more to a certain standard and that's how I settled on the numbers I did. like I basically said above, had you looked my Top 55 movies, I suspect your calculations would be the same as me or not much either way of myself mostly because you can't really differ much from how I calculated mine without it starting to stretch things trying to add to fantasy. like if you wanted I could see maybe counting the two James Bond movies in my Top 55 movies (i.e. Skyfall(2012)/Casino Royale(2006)) as 'Fantasy' but I personally counted them as part of the realism category as they seem more closer to Realism than Fantasy for me even though I realize that a lot of that stuff is unlikely to happen in real life (which is that enough to call it Fantasy?) which I could see how one could argue towards counting them apart of the Fantasy group of movies. also, I guess maybe one could count My Cousin Vinny (1992) as Fantasy because something like that is not going to happen in a real court setting even though outside of that the movie does not say Fantasy at all. so with examples like these given, if your not going into that line of stuff to consider a movie Fantasy then what I calculated is pretty accurate as I tend to base my calculation more on stuff that's more obviously clear cut fantasy among the bunch and if they don't meet that standard then I counted them as part of the Realism category. either way, it seems pretty clear cut looking at my higher tier movies that I favor Realism over Fantasy in general. I don't see Robocop (1987) as a super hero movie at all as it feels nothing like one to me. if you do count it as a super hero movie though it would be easily my #1 super hero movie. but to me Man of Steel (2013) (6-6.5/10) would be my #1 legitimate super hero movie. either way, I don't think Robocop would be a clear cut super hero movie like how Batman/Superman/Spider-Man/X-Men etc are clear cut super hero movies. moviemouth I assume that means it's nothing special for you? Captain Spencer like I already mentioned it's within my Top 104 movies and probably within my Top 100. but with that said, I can say the following as a matter of fact for myself... Robocop places somewhere between #56-104 in my Top 100-ish movies. so with that said... we pretty much agree that it's in the bottom half of the Top 100, assuming it does make your Top 100 like you said.
