I love pie and cobbler, but I think I probably like donuts the best of all as far as sweet things go.
I've never been a big chocolate person, but I adore coconut.
What's your favorite?

To be honest I am a big lover of sweet things and I do be dishonest to say that I prefer just one or two. I like a wide variety of them depending upon my mood. Just to name a few: Turkish Bakalava Dark Chcolate Persian Shola-E-Zard Pineapple cake Indian Rasgulla

I like Italian Cream Cake a lot. It's got walnuts and buttermilk and coconut in it. Very rich. It's what my grammy used to make me for my birthday.

Seriously though as a matter of fact I wanted to ask this question on F&D board whether Greek people identified with Turkish cuisines. Sometimes it's the same thing known by 2 names. Greek Gyro and Turkish Donner Kebab have very minimal difference. That said I didn't know if Bakalava was also claimed to be Greek.
But that said, for the world at large, Baklava is mainly identified with Turks! Guess you can't do much about that.

Rocky Road Ice Cream.
But I am allergic to chocolate, and now that my asthma has become pretty severe, I can't have my favorite dessert.
Oh, What a Lucky Man I Was.

I also like Indian sweets a lot. But feel they taste much better than they look.

Strawberries are my only dessert. I eat a few after breakfast and dinner. I don't add sugar or cream. I just rinse them off and eat them.
I would try that Indian Rasgulla, though.

I gave you a "like", Sulla, because I admire (and envy) your restraint...but I have to say I admire it from a distance. Oh my...I love ice cream, and for a while, it looked as though I could never have it again, because I discovered I have a dairy allergy. Not the more common variety of lactose intolerance, which mainly affects the gut, but rather the sort that messes up my sinuses and gives me sinus pressure/congestion and terrible headaches. But then ice cream manufacturers got smart, realizing that there was a huge untapped market out there of people with problems like mine, and began producing more and more dairy-free alternatives, and now I have many delicious flavors to choose from...I especially like Ben & Jerry's non-dairy line (almond-based) and Trader Joe's Soy Creamy flavors: Vanilla and Cherry Chocolate Chip (they also make a soy-based chocolate, but I'm not that fond of plain chocolate ice cream). If all I liked in the area of sweets was dairy-free ice cream, I'd be okay, but that's not the case (unfortunately for my waistline and probably for my health ). Favorite pies (in alphabetical order) : cherry, lemon meringue, and pecan. Favorite cakes: yellow, with chocolate fudge icing and orange cake (with vanilla/orange icing). To quote Thomas Magnum, "I know what you're thinking"--don't some of those flavors contain dairy? Not much, of the brands I like...and I am lucky in that my allergy is not so severe that one drop of milk lands me in the ER. (I feel so sorry for people who have allergies that severe to any food or other substance!) I have more (waaay too many more), but since I haven't eaten breakfast yet, I don't want to drive myself crazy and start with, say, a mango-filled sweet roll. So I'd better stop here.

Well...I will echo ellynmacg and say I admire your restrain. But I can't replicate that. While I have normal healthy body and no excessive fat my love for sweets is one thing that keeps me away from having a body like Bruce Lee.

I'm a berry-lover, too, Sulla. Raspberries, blackberries, mulberries in their very short season - and I have to fight the goats for them, they will grab the branch and eat leaves and berries! Greedy little pigs! Berries are a super food, and maybe one day I will be able to grow goji berries, I haven't had much luck, yet. I used to have a real sweet tooth until chemo; my taste changed and I developed non-diabetic hypoglycemia, so I prefer more savory things and only eat sweets when I am also eating protein, which stabilizes blood sugar levels. A sugar crash is not a pretty sight!

We do get ice cream cones in the summer, though. Sounds goo. I live low carb so I stay under 100 g of carbs and zero of that from added sugar except on a once a month cheat day. what i found is that your taste bude/pallet really changes! If you do low carb or keto for some time you not only stop craving sugar quite soon but it doesnt really taste good anymore. Like regular milk chocolate is too sweet for me now most of the time if I decide to try it. I would really recommend a month of keto to anyone who struggles with craving sugar. It worked wonders for me and others that i know that tried it. Sugar is such poison anyway...
