Disclaimer: The usual, especially with regard to the part where MLordandGod advises Catholics to convert to Orthodoxy to avoid going to Hell with Pope Francis, although I agree with her that he is going to Hell.
My thoughts: If I were Catholic, I would be just as disgusted with this clown as I am now, and I would listen to my own inbuilt God-given sense of right versus wrong instead of just listening to him and accepting without question that he is God's voice on earth. I think of him as an elected official and nothing more.

"I think of him as an elected official and nothing more."
So pretty much the same as every other pope? I'm not sure how being relatively liberal to other popes makes him a "communist".

Okay, if he isn't espousing communism, what kind of a system do you think he wants? Fascism? Monarchy? He doesn't seem to have a very high opinion of democracy.

"Marxist ideology is wrong. But I have met many Marxists in my life who are good people, so I don't feel offended … there is nothing in the exhortation that cannot be found in the social doctrine of the church."[283] He later postulated that the Communists "stole" the flag of Christianity as "the flag of the poor is Christian. Poverty is at the center of the Gospel."[284]"
From Wikipedia:
Francis opposed the Marxist versions of liberation theology followed by the "'progressive' group of [Jesuit] theologians living out in base communities".[

Regardless how you feel about them, Francis pretty much disavowed Marxism, so accusing him of being a communist is quite silly.

Fair enough I suppose, but if not democracy.....what? ![](http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e41/imdbv2/imdbsmileys/giveup.gif)

From what little I've read, I would guess democratic socialism.

I think Pope Francis was actually speaking out against the nationalist populist movements afoot in Europe and calling for unity that avoids racism. Pope Francis is in favor of peace and brotherhood and I see no reason to think he is bound for hell.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that support for Marine Le Pen in France is one of these nationalist populist movements of which you speak. What racism are you referring to?

I would guess that her movement would qualify as such to either myself of Pope Francis. Some of these movements in being anti-immigrant also either verge on racism or definitely take the plunge in that direction.

The EU's open border policy was a complete disaster, but it appears that anyone who opposes it can be accused of racism. The left in my country, the United States, is also making accusations of racism against those who favor securing the borders against criminals and terrorists.

I remember when he made that statement. Marxists deny God as the supreme authority in the Universe. They are NOT good people. And yet you do believe God is the supreme authority in the universe and you're a long way from being a "good person" so what exactly does that tell us ? Are all theists dicks like you?

YEAH! He should be more anti-communist... like Pope Pius XII. ![](http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e41/imdbv2/imdbsmileys/angry2.gif) Where's a good Nazi party when you need one? ![](http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e41/imdbv2/imdbsmileys/giveup.gif) ![](http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e41/imdbv2/imdbsmileys/none.gif)
