moviemouth deep breaths might help with the annoyance level and some I do like that you see it all as "my own hang up" and when you said "I get a certain irrational annoyance at people" it showed insight. Seriously … that's not all that common ! btw ... reading the comments above about those movies makes me even more sure they are not for me (not that I had not known that already …. rotten corpse … beautiful sunlighting or not, nope ! Just nope ! I enjoy being scared and I like watching skillful directing and Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Chainsaw Massacre are a perfect combination of both. I am not one of those horror fans who just likes the movies because of how sick they are.

Yep ... That pretty much sums it up, I guess, moviemouth. There is just so much time that one can devote to watching films and there are movies that simply do not appeal... for me, it's as simple as that.

I watched the sequels to these movies, and wasn't impressed at all, so I stopped watching the franchises.

I am very drawn to the dark side of humanity, partly because that is a big part of me. I struggle with darkness and fear all the time and I love dreams, which is why I am a fan of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I don't particularly like any of the sequels to either Halloween or A Nightmare on Elm Street, though Dream Warriors the best of the sequels. I like NONE of the Friday the 13th movies. That is a garbage franchise imo.

You don’t see anything. You don’t see a single drop of blood during that scene. Really? Even so, I think the other user means sickening things for the sake of sickening things. The movie is very brutal, even without showing blood. The hammer scene is one of the most disturbing violent moments in movie history imo.This. I watched Halloween and Nightmare On Elm Street, but I couldn´t finish watching Texas CM. I don´t mind watching blood, but as you well said, that movie is brutal and disturbing. I know my limits, and my stomach said stop.

I have never seen them, so should i watch them and why do you think i should watch them ? If you appreciate the horror film. Then I would recommend Alien, it has many elements of the horror film.

Chainsaw Massacre has a much more real feel to it, like you are actually experiencing what is happening on screen for real. It puts me in the position of the characters better than almost any movie I have seen. There is a scene later in the movie when the female victim reaches a sanity breaking point and it is done so effectively it becomes hard to endure.

I have never called myself a movie fan. And i will probably watch Alien and Aliens, But i can honestly say that i will never watch Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw MassacreWhy not? Halloween is often considered a masterpiece of the genre and is even praised by critics who normally hate those kinds of movies. You can skip the sequels, but I highly recommend the original. I am a bit confused as to why you even asked whether you should watch the Alien movies. Are you unaware of how beloved at least the first 2 movies are? If your are aware, then doesn't that kind of answer your question already? If you are not a movie fan then why are you on imdb 2?I did not say i am not a movie fan, i said i have never called myself a movie fan. I am not into slasher films that is why,

But i can honestly say that i will never watch Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Why Never? I've watched several movies, only because, everyone was talking about them, and I wanted to be able to understand what they were talking about, and to be able to join in on the conversations that they were having... Don't you want to do the same? I am just not into slasher films, sure there are movies that i have seen because people are talking about them. But i just have no interest in slasher films and have no interest in joining a conservation about them. The only type of horror movies i enjoy are supernatural horror films.

Seriously, Aliens (Alien II) is a must see action film a la Starship Troopers but more intense and less ironic.
Alien is probably the best Alien comes on board and kills movie there is. Only 2001 is better with that.
The rest are just optional encores if you liked the first two films. Which you probably won't too much.

The first is an one best horror movies ever made and the second is arguably the best sequel ever made so you should definitely see the first two.

The first two are obvious. Definitely skip the third. It's too Hollywood and a failure in trying to be that. The fourth one at least succeeds in being a "no respecter of persons" film, if you like that sort of thing. Prometheus is pretty good.

The first two were really great. The rest are passable. Even though I did like Prometheus.

I really enjoyed the first four and think they are worth a watch. I wasn't impressed with the last two though.
