The C in MCU is for comedy. another actor artist slams the mcu again. mcu movies just made it so easy for most to hate comic films The Princess Bride is a comedy and none of the FoX-Men abominations are even half as good as that.

It's a conspiracy: Marvel Cinematic Universe was just a clumsy cover, at Marvel they just don't understand what "cinematic" means, not including comic books and TV shows anyway.

[/p][/quote] Not only is he completely wrong, the irony in his statement is that all the Avengers take a beating in their films, whether it's a solo film or an Avengers film. Most are always bloodied and bruised. Iron Man tends to get it the worst because of his suit. But none of the Justice League members are ever hurt or even looked at least hurt. Wonder Woman is the worst offender. Not even a scratch by the end of her film. Even her hair was still perfect after defeating Aries. There were no stakes for her and I didn't once feel she was in any real danger.

Definitely not a Daniel Day Lewis type...

Actually the movies are the best thing Marvel has going for their company, their comics of late have mostly be junk while most of their TV shows can only go so far to match the movies' world building and scale. The ones acting childish would you, summers8, DC-Fan, darkpast, power ranger, and thenewnexus - any comment you make to slam the MCU and its fanatics is so NPC its not even funny.

You forgot to insert the . TV shows in cinemas or radio are lazy. We both know from recent encounters that playing pasghetti with me won't help your NPC argument, okay? All the NPCs you mention are credits to their MCUs. Let's talk about Hafabee: was he like me? Did you like him?

Ok, that would have worked too. But there were two "s" in summers8 so he's twice as salty.

I dunno I think Summers may simply be an anacronym for what he is, as in a salty uneducated mental midget erroneous redundant shithead, and 8 could simply be the age or year/grade he was in when he flunked out of school for being such an utter twat sack.

I think it's relative to the universe or the direction the movie takes as to what stakes are. You don't have to kill characters to create stakes. On the one hand, thousands of people died at the end of Man of Steel, but everyone was high fiving at the end because the stakes were the planet itself, individual lives made sense to be inconsequential. On the other hand, Toy Story's stakes are literally some toys a kid has that he doesn't play with anymore... and it works.
So i don't agree that the stakes are nonexistent if you know a certain hero needs to survive for the future team up movies, it can still be dramatic. Depends what the plot revolves around. Most WB and MCU superhero movies are good because they have established stakes, regardless of how petty this actor thinks they are.

as a wise man once said: The most pretentious thing is the pretense of risk and thrills while being unwilling to paying for the stakes this requires. This reduces conflicts to a toddler playing with action figures. Like killing Superman in his second movie and bringing him back in his third?

Never would have thought of that. The DCEU track record is not much better than MCU (they are only in film 5 though). But Superman's death was not intended as a real death scene as the last shot in BvS alone blatantly indicates: Rather it's the arc of a trilogy that sees (i) the birth of an hero finding his way, (ii) him becoming a flawed legend and sacrificing himself, (iii) the hero resurrected and reborn. Supes' death also worked as a plot device to push the character development (Bruce) and formation of the JL forward.

How did you put it? Ah yes, "This reduces conflicts to a toddler playing with action figures."

Everything about Supe's death was unearned and there's no consistency with Justice League, considering about half the world resented Superman in BvS. But come Justice League, the entire world mourns him like he their best friend. That's not good writing, nor storytelling, especially for an arc that's supposed to be about the rise and fall and rebirth of a hero.

How did you put it? Ah yes, " This reduces conflicts to a toddler playing with action figures." it's brilliant quote indeed! But if there is a rebirth/resurrection concept and character arc behind it, it's barely a toddler's game - more mythological and character writing: " If God is all-powerful, He cannot be all good. And if He is all good, then He cannot be all-powerful. And neither can you be." This is no Man Child's Universe.... hey wait, how did we suddenly end up discussing DCEU movies in a MCU formula tread...? Ah, the old Derail & Deflect tactics: not bad, Kuato, you got me there.
