www.chicagotribune.com/news/sns-bc-cb--cuba-religious-freedom-20170327-story.htmlIt will be interesting to see how this goes, after so many years of jailing people for free practice. US Christians should certainly view this as a positive result of the previous administration's efforts. (Although I haven't see how Hannity, Jones, etc. are presenting this story - as far as I know it's been somehow spun such that the years of enforced state atheism were all part of Obama's design.)

It's good to see that the dominant domination, in Cuba, is Catholicism. Thanks for the report, Tex.

Some of Obama's critics give him too much credit. I doubt that he has what it takes to design anything. His talent is to stand in front of a podium and read off of a teleprompter. True, almost anyone can do that, but no one can do it as charismatically as he does it.

Obama's opening up trade and travel allowed evangelism back into an area wherein people were jailed for practice, but I understand the inability to digest or acknowledge this. You've been fed "He's the devil" Youtube videos for so long it must create quite the clash of concepts. On the other hand, I imagine most reasonable Christians who follow the news probably see the positive, here.

religious ignorance recognizes no border. as it seeps into the nearest available crack. Your ignorance of social and political issues combined with your knee-jerk reactions to any mention of religion really makes for some laughable stances.

I never said he was "the devil" either. Once again, that would be giving him too much credit. Castro and his scurvy crew took over Cuba in '59 if I recall correctly. Vatican II was in the '60s, so the Catholicism that existed then is wiped out now. Evidently you see it as a bigger deal than I do.

I never ascribed any quote to you, much less that one. Maybe time for a new lens prescription.
The point being more that someone who's general source of information is amateur conspiracy junkfood videos isn't going to represent a reasoned take on the ramifications of opening up Cuba to evangelism, much less be able to offer a rational view on the origin of the action. Most reasoning Christians will see this as a positive effect of Obama's decision. Those fed by Alex Jones level stuff are unable to even digest the notion of a positive in that regard.

I was going to say... while I'd rather it not be an organization nationally known for protecting the actions of paedophiles within its ranks, one still currently struggling to own that past and image, at least people aren't being jailed for believing and practicing as they wish. But... yeah... watch your kids.

Why, of course. You generalize. I never said it, and I went on the Internet disagreeing with people who did say it, but it's okay to generalize if it suits your needs. Got it. Now you're attempting to make a distinction between the "reasoning Christians" who support globalism and imply that those who don't are non-reasoning Christians. This is so old. You've been doing this for years. It's your talent. It's what you do.

No, Jones has literally said both Hillary AND Obama are "covered in flies", both demons, and has insisted Obama could be "the anti-Christ" more than once. No generalities there. I know. I never said you did. Sorry dude. Even my B-in-Law is happy about new inroads into a formerly enforced atheist state and grants whose executive action got it there, and he's as terrified of the amorphous "globalism" as you are. The distinction, as noted above, is between people who read vetted news and keep up with world events (and thus have an informed take on it) and people who ingest Youtube conspiracy vids non-stop.

Well, then, pic your average, random southern baptist - most are coherent enough to acknowledge Obama opening up this avenue for bringing more peeps into the fold. But then most don't sit staring at fantasy vids non-stop in their downtime to the extent that their outlook has become so extreme that acknowledging even the simplest shade of grey is impossible. People aren't naturally binary in their thinking, (hell, even Trump, in rejecting the TPP, has done some small good, and many liberals can acknowledge that) - but those non-stop McDonald's videos surely trained you into black/white thinking.
It's anyone's guess who spends more time trying to contradict the tone and content of their own posts - you or Rape-Tum-Tugger.

You're deluded if you think that the US had something to do with this. Fidel Castro did not bow down to imperialists. Over the years Fidel softened his stance on Christianity as he saw the good in some of its teachings, he believed Jesus was a communist.

... the new influx of missionaries on the heels of the US lessening travel restrictions. Right.
I wish you'd stop wasting your time trying to engage me. You're a lamentable case of an eagerness to argue with no time to follow the topic.
You're better off debating the existence of the term "evolutionary force".
