Is the Blu-ray version, one which also features the Director's Cut? I have purchased the film, several times over, on DVD but still not gotten around to upgrade it to Blu-ray, which is something I might look into, as yeah, Kingpin is surely among my favorite 90s comedies, and one of the few, which I believe benefits from having a longer uncut version, that includes some very funny and memorable scenes, and yeah, I would love to own it on Blu-ray as well, as it is that kind of re-watchable, and yeah, Vanessa Angel alone, should be enough to make me go for it, once more. Yes 2 cuts are included on one disc. The theatrical PG-13 at 113 minutes. And the extended rated R at 117 minutes. Been a long time since I watched it but I have cracked up at the "shit cloud" scene every time. And Big Ern McCrackin in the final championship match. Lol I hope those were Vanessa Angel's real nipples in the fridge scene. I have always thought they were rather than fx.

Well, I headed down into the city, for a bit of movie and music shopping, yesterday, and it is nice to see how the society is turning more and more, back to normal. Anyway, I managed to pick up, hopefully quite an promising bunch of titles along the way, and had to held back a few times, as there were a few too pricy temptations, such as the Vincent Price Blu-ray 6 movie box-set, which was an import release, and sadly, just too damn expensive for me, and might have to look up a copy on the net, maybe some have it lying around, for a bit friendlier prices.
Road Games (1981) - Limited Edition Blu-ray Special Release by Powerhouse Films
Wel, I already own at least 2-3 different copies of this aussie cult-road-thriller, and I had some plans on hanging onto the upcoming swedish Blu-ray version, that will be out this fall, by Retrofilm. However, when I saw this damn good looking moviebox by Powerhouse Films, and a limited edition (I got the numbered 2493 out of 5000), and yeah, there is so much damn bonus features, that I cannot bring them all up, but hours of hours of potential interviews and stories around the film, the director Richard Franklin, Stacey Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis, and much, much more.
Also featured, was a double-sided and very neat looking movie poster, always loved the original artwork, which thankfully is used well on the boxset and also the Blu-ray itself. I guess, or really sure hope, that this will be the ultimate edition for fans of this great and very well acted and made, early 80s thriller, that is one of many by Franklin, which pave tribute to the great horror master, Alfred Hitchcock, and is probably one of the best of doing so as well.
Iron Eagle II (1988) and Iron Eagle III: Aces (1992) - DVD
Just as I was heading out of the second movie and music store left in my town, I spotted a bunch of half priced DVDs and Blu-rays, just lying around, and decided to give them a closer look. Turned out, I found 2 of the three (or maybe they made more of these films?) Iron Eagle trilogy, starring the always likeable Louis Gossett Jr.
Peter's Friends (1992) - DVD
Another one, which was half priced, and never heard of it until yesterday. But from the look of it, comes with quite a solid british gallery of talents.
Klovn: The Final (2020) - DVD
Love the original run of first 5-6 seasons, from 2005 and up till around 2010, including the hilarious first movie. Sadly, the second movie, Klovn: Forever (2015) along with the later season 7, somewhat did not impress or entertain me as much as the earlier ones. Kind of a shame, as I hate how great endings, end up getting brought up back, and suddenly it seems more mediocre and tame in comparison, to how things was before. However, my family doctor is a big fan of this danish tv-show, and he kind of promised me, that the third film was much better than the second one, so I guess I should follow his advice, and hope for a fun time with Frank and Casper on new adventures.
Mary (2019) - Blu-ray
Only picked up, in order to complete a movie deal, where you get 3 for the price of 2. I had to ditch the film, Marwen, starring Steve Carrell, but since I think it is still around on Netflix Nordic, I guess I might give that one, a go, later on. This out to the sea, thriller, with Gary Oldman however, seems like an interesting ride.
Menneskedyret (1995) - DVD
I have always liked the danish cinema, specially their dark comedy style, and Menneskedyret, seems like a promising one.
Dylan Dog: Dead of Night (2010) - Blu-ray
Totally impulse buy, but I could not leave it by, as it featured an image of Peter Stormare along with fangs on the backside cover. Most likely a crappy film, but it went for a very cheap price, so yeah, Stormare is a cool guy, but not sure how much he is involved in this one.
Afdeling Q - DVD
4 danish crime movies, where I almost picked up two of the first one in the film series, but realized it was much cheaper to just get the entire franchise box, instead.
New Year's Evil (1980) - Blu-ray
Well, I was kind of sure, that I had seen this, but turned out, once I looked up the trailer (which looked awesome by the way), I understood that we had never caught up before. Again, as with my earlier purchase of Christmas Evil (1980), this is also an 88 Films release, and I was very impressed by the picture and sound quality of the Christmas Evil copy. Hopefully an enjoyable early 80s slasher.
Double Horror Feature by Eureka!: Night Wing (1979) and Shadow of the Dark (1976) - Blu-ray
Another impulse buy, as it just looked so damn cool, very drive-in/grindhouse similar in style, and while the price was a bit too high, I do sure hope, at least one of them, might turn in good. Some familiar names and faces appears in these two, where Jan-Michael Vincent, David Warner, Strother Martin, Nick Mancuso and Stephen Macht are a few of the ones, hopefully showing up.
Batman: Soul of the Dragon (2020) - DVD
I have ordered Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1, along with 7 other titles earlier this week, but since I decided to go with the choice of getting them all, at once, instead of splitting up the packages, I guess it might take a while, until I get them all, since a few of the movies, have longer estimated time, before arriving, than others. Anyway, I have rarely been let down by the animated Batman movies, but yeah, I am much more looking forward to the Long Halloween Part 1 and 2, rather than The Batman live action film, that will be out next year, than one has got me anything but "hyped" up.
Villain (1971) - DVD
Somehow, I am not sure if I have ever heard of this one, but the DVD cover seems to put it into the same gritty and hard hitting style, as another british gangster/crime release of that year, which is a huge favorite of mine, with Get Carter.
Breakout (1975) - Blu-ray
Another Powerhouse Films re-release, and this Charles Bronson movie, I have often wanted to see, but somehow, it just never happened. Anyway, it features quite a lively cast, where you also get Robert Duvall, Jill Ireland and Randy Quaid.
The Annihilators (1985) - Blu-ray
I am really enjoying all of these cool looking Arrow Video releases, and this 80s vigilante themed film, I hope might live up to the great artwork and promising plot.
White Fire (1984) - Blu-ray
And once again, Arrow Video, and I think Lostinlimbo reviewed or recommended this potential cult-sleaze b-movie a few years ago, in the Action and Adventure section. Anyway, the trailer for the film, looks hilarious and very enjoyable, so will cross my fingers, and hope that it will be a good one.
Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise (2016) - DVD
I have always liked these late night cable-tv crime thrillers, starring Tom Selleck. Sure, a few of the later ones, kind of got a bit too overlong and slow moving, but I have never seen the last one, and thought I might pick up on it, and hope it can be of any entertainment value.
Kinamann (2005) - DVD
Danish drama-comedy
Player (2013) - DVD
Casper Christensen from the Klovn sucess, another impulsive buy.
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017) - DVD
Took me a while until I finally saw Dragged Across Concrete, and while not a film I will be re-watching anytime soon, it sure was a very gritty and good crime-thriller.
The Admirable Crichton (1957) - DVD
Supposedly a british classic, but since I have not exactly seen too many of those, I guess what sold it, was a promising plot and yeah, I guess I will just have to see how it goes.
Electra Glide in Blue (1971) - DVD
Another impulse buy, the artwork and plot, somewhat reminded me of other 70s explosive car/road movies, such as Vanishing Point, The Driver or Mad Max, but from the look of it, I guess it is probably closer to the first one, than the two latter ones.
Picked up a few albums as well.
The Afghan Whigs - Congregation (1992) - CD
Huge admirer of Gentlemen (1993) and Black Love is not bad either. Not gotten around to hear much of their 1965 album, but I am glad to finally having found their 1992, album.
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme (1965) - CD
While Jazz might not be my kind of music, I do appreciate it a few times, here and there. Hopefully this will fit in fine, with a few of the other records I own of Miles Davis, Bill Evans and Sonny Rollins.
Supertramp - Breakfast in America (1979) - CD
Had the potential of picking this up, for absolute nothing, through a second hand store, a few weeks ago, but missed out, and well, got it in a 3 for the price of 2, music deal. Only heard a few of their singles or hits, but I guess this is one of their more famous releases.
ABBA - The Visitors (1981) - CD
One of the few ABBA records, I have often tried to look for, but somewhat never could find, until yesterday. I guess by this time, their marriages had ended, and the days as a hit machine was coming to an end, however I often heard this album being described by both fans and critics, as their most solid work.

Those two Iron Eagle films would be a favourite and not-so favourite of the first three. Never seen the fourth film. Part III was the one I liked the best of the first three. Mainly due to the novelty of the planes used in the film, and it felt like it’s own film/story compared to previous films. Shadow of the Hawk and Nightwing were interesting films. I think the latter is the better film, but the former is the entertaining one. Both had great locations. I need to also pick up a copy of New Year’s Evil. Fun slasher, especially whenever Kip Nivan is on screen. I really need to give Breakout a re-watch. I remember not really digging it when I first saw it. But that might change the second time around? Oh, White Fire 😁. IMDB2.freeforums.net/thread/95319/white-fire-1984Your comparison to Vanishing Point for Electra Glide in Blue (1971) is sorta true, in tone and atmosphere, but the film is more of a laidback crime mystery than action. Maybe even Easy Rider shoots to mind. It has banger of a conclusion too. Typical of its time.

Maybe even Easy Rider shoots to mind. It has banger of a conclusion too. Typical of its time. There was a fourth Iron Eagle film? Never knew it went on for that long, but I guess it might have hit off well, during the vhs-rental decade. Yeah, I almost picked up another one of the Slasher Collection from 88 Films, which is Blind Date (1984), but since I already own it, from a much older DVD version, and I guess it kind of plays out a bit more like a giallo movie, rather than slasher. Still, I think I would rather re-watch it, before cashing out, because some of these import release, sure are pricy at times. White Fire, I saw a modern trailer for, just recently, looked like one those "special" films, which could only happen during the mid 80s. I will be sure to pay a visit to your fine thread, and write down a few of my thoughts of the film, once I have seen it. Anyway, I also picked up a few days ago, Escape from the Bronx (1983), Welcome to Marwen (2018) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Season 5 (1991), all on DVD. I have already seen and own a copy of 1990: Bronx Warriors (1982), which I thought were quite hilarious at times, but kind of forgot they did a follow up, and wanted to give it a go. Most likely not a good as the earlier italian post-apocalyptic b-movies, but if it contains some ridiculous and campy cheese, then I am all for it. Welcome to Marwen is another impulse buy, not sure what to expect, but I remember thinking it seemed like a promising one, way back, when I saw the trailer. Season 5 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will be the first time, since summer of 2010, that I pick up another season of the original animated show, which ran from 1987, and up to 1996, making it the longest running animated show, at that time. However, I guess The Simpsons kind set a new record, there but not sure if that is something to brag about. Anyway, I did a bit of re-watch of the first seasons of the Turtles back in winter of last year, and quite enjoyed the nostalgia and fun, but no question about it, it did get tiresome and a bit too predicable after a while, and I think I will not pick up more seasons after the fifth, as that is from 1991, and I guess the shows heyday, were surely around the years of 1987-1991, after that, the quality and stories got worse and worse, or so I remember from having seen a bit too many of the later ones, from Youtube back in the day.

Bought on Bluray
(1968) The Devil Rides Out (1979) Skatetown USA
Thundarr The Barbarian: the complete series
The Depatie/Freleng Collection Vol. 2 -Crazylegs Crane -Sheriff Hoot Kloot -Misterjaw -The Blue Racer -The Dogfather
I had vague memories of watching Thundarr when I was very young very early in the morning on Saturdays. Mainly just the three heroes and opening theme and narration. Years later watched some episodes on Boomerang. Finally coming to Blu is a big "get" crossed off my list.
I love the animation style/backgrounds of all the Depatie/ Freleng cartoons.
My personal favorites in this vol. are Crazylegs Crane and The Blue Racer.

stefancrosscoe , I have two Indicator/Powerhouse limited edition releases. John Carpenter's Vampires and Blind Terror. The latter is known as See No Evil here in the states but I flipped the cover wrap. BT is my preferred title and on the SNE side Mia Farrow looks literally retarded. No label here has ever released it on Blu. It's an impressive company/label. I'm glad many of their releases play in Region A. Their limited editions that come with very informative and interesting booklets, I hope Wolf, The Gorgon and Road Games still come with them when I can order them. I like Road Games since seeing it on tv around 2 years ago. That. surprise scare when Keach is trying to catch that running lady.. It's slow but I think its good for watching or for a familiar movie to fall asleep to.

It's slow but I think its good for watching or for a familiar movie to fall asleep to. Yeah, I do enjoy the ones who seem to put a bit of extra work, in adding some neat and interesting booklets, as I remember that was something which were handed out, far more frequently, back in the day. I just a few days, re-watched two of Richard Franklin's 80s movies, with Link (1986) and Road Games (1981), where the latter is surely the better, but Link did contain some great use of locations and scenery, but somehow, I felt Terence Stamp should have gotten maybe a bit more scenes, and I did not really like the clownish circus music, by Jerry Goldsmith, that felt like some leftovers from the Gremlins movies, and I wanted something a bit more menacing and darker in return, as there sure were a few creepy and unpleasant moments for sure. I loved how I would discover all these little 80s gems, through late night cable, during the 90s and early 00s. Road Games, just one of many, but where it contained several chilling and brilliant made scenes, that still gets to me, even if I have re-watched it several times over, since. My favorite part, has to be when Patrick Quid (Keach) is all alone in the australian desert night, with his truck, and hears this weird noise in the back, then moves out to investigate where it comes from, and there are some of the "little" piggies, which looks more human, than animal, hanging from the meat hooks, and yeah, I love the combination of adventure, black comedy and suspense/thrills, and I am very glad I picked up the Powerhouse/Indicator release, a must have, for fans of the film. Yeah, I feel the film fits into that classic late night, cozy (in parts that is) comfort horror-thriller movie style, that I prefer to watch while in my bed or sleeping on the coach, in the dark, late at nights.

Picked up a DVD copy of Curse of the Werewolf last summer, sadly it did not do much for me. Also regret, not having picked up way more of the Midnite Movies by MGM on DVD, back in the day, as I guess many of these are now either out of print, or very high in prices.

For me, Curse of the Werewolf is sort of middle-ground Hammer. I forgot how there’s little werewolf scenes in the film. Unique approach to the myth, but not particularly exciting until the film’s short-lived climax. I think the story’s set-up is good, but it eventually meanders when Oliver Reed comes onto the scene. It looks great though. The Midnite DVD I got was really cheap. But that’s a rarity, depending on the films. I did have a few of these DVDs, but I got rid of them. Either upgrading to bluray, or I just didn’t care for the films. Looking back at their releases... they sure had a lot.

"The Godfather" trilogy "Batman" "Batman returns" "Batman & Robin" "Batman forever""Murder on the Orient express" (2016) Out of curiosity, are those DVDs or Blu-rays? I remember that not far off, when Batman Begins was getting released on DVD in 2005, I picked all 4 earlier Bat-flicks, on 2-disc special DVD editions, where the contained lots of bonus features and still have not gotten through them all. Just wondering if these are newer releases, or the same as the 2005 ones.

You summed up why I guess it kind of stood out, as a bit of a disappointing adventure, as the DVD cover looked so cool, and went in, hoping for a really good and underrated werewolf movie. Sadly, it just did not click well with my taste. Found it a bit too overlong/several scenes just dragged on and on, but it did look quite nice in picture quality (the DVD) but story and character wise, it never lived up to the hype that were going on the artwork/reviews, which tried to hail it as the "greatest werewolf movie ever made", and yeah, that was never to be the case. Yeah, the MGM Midnite series, seemed to run for a while, lots of titles, sadly also some very hard to find, but I have always been on the look out, to try and hunt down a few, every now and then. That is if the prices is not too high.

Decided to stop by and do a little impulse shopping, most likely my last one this summer. Anyway, one of the few I had in mind, when I headed down into the city, were Part 2 of the animated movie Batman: The Long Halloween (2021), but somehow they told me it was delayed until 9th of August, and yeah, not the end of the world, as I thought Part 1, was kind of a let down, and decided to pick up a few others instead. Again, a bit pricy, specially considering the amount of movies and music, I could get for the same prices, at one of the local second hand shops, but the chances of them, having exactly the same films and albums, in store, is not very big.
Humanoids From The Deep (1980) - Blu-ray
A damn fine looking, brand new Blu-ray release by 88 Films. Which comes with a reversable artwork, I prefer the older one, not the updated version, and a pretty cool booklet, a movie poster as well, and sadly, not the one I would prefered, as mentioned, I thought the updated version looks a bit too "tacky", where as the original is a damn masterpiece of sleazy monster movie making. I already own the film, through the 2010 Roger Corman Cult Classic series, but on DVD. Not sure if there is much change in the bonus material, but nice they added some subtitles, and I really had a fun time, the last visit I had with it, years ago. Might watch it again, and yeah, surely one of the best b-movie monster films of the late 70s and early 80s. Lots of upcoming young talents in the making, as well.
Maximum Risk (1996) - Blu-ray
Well, this was quite a "risk" to take, as I used to own it on DVD, years ago. Well, I do not own it anymore, so I hope the film might deliver a bit more now, than from my last visit. I do not remember much of it, but hopefully it might be more enjoyable now, than last time. And if not, well, at least I got to watch the beautiful Natasha Henstridge in better quality, than my old and worn DVD.
Last Holiday (1950) - DVD
Impulse buy, but have a feeling it might be another potential quality gem, as the last time I tried out one of these new Vintage Classics releases, was through the great british gangster film, Villain (1971). This time, I decided to bring with me home, this drama-comedy (supposedly) starring Alec Guinness in the lead. Not sure what to expect, but hope it might be a pleasant surprise.
Willy's Wonderland (2021) - Blu-ray
Not sure how many of his films, that were lying around the music and movie shop, but damn. Must have been somewhere between 15-20 films, and most of them made after 2010. Only the crappy DTV/VODs from Bruce Willis seems to match in number, but most surely not in quality. I always go in, with probably far too huge expectations, when it comes to Cage and certain of his newer releases, where as Mandy and Color out of Space was absolutely not bad movies, but I just could not love them, as so many others seems to do. This film, was just pure impulse, and I will try to lower my hope, and just go in and take with it offers, and see where it leads me.
Cobra (1986) - Blu-ray
Already own the film, twice on DVD. Where one is a badly cut/censored british region 2 edition, and the other, is a scandinavian uncut release. This Blu-ray, well, not sure how much better or improved the picture quality might be, but at least it is uncut, and one of those films, I think are worth to upgrade to Blu-ray.
Devil in a Blue Dress (1995) - Blu-ray
This one I almost picked up, the last time I headed into the city, but now, I could not ignore it over again, and decided to bring it home. Looks like a very interesting crime-noir adventure, and hopefully this fine looking release by Indicator or Powerhouse Films, might be a potential gem.
The Woman in the Window (1944) - Blu-ray
I caught up with Fritz Lang and his Scarlet Street, earlier this spring, and almost thought it was the exact same film, only released on Blu-ray. Then I read on the backside, that it was released a year earlier, while containing the same leads, and yeah, it sure looks like a nice bit of suspense and mystery. I felt that I should probably upgrade my poor DVD version of Scarlet Street, as the film sure deserved a better looking edition, than the lousy copy I got a hold of.
Wilt (1989) - DVD
An british black comedy, I had been meaning of giving a go, but never quite got there, the last time I saw it lying around the music and movie store. A more pricier Blu-ray edition was also there, but I felt that I had spent enough money for a while, and went with the cheaper option.
The United Way (2021) - DVD
Always been a sucker for a good and informative documentary, specially when it comes to football, and none more than my favorite team, Manchester United. Sadly, I have been through some absolute terrible ones, over the years, where the focus has mostly been on how many fans, money and fame they have gathered, not the story of the club, and the rise towards the top, and I like the ones, which take their time and do not end up being edited into a overlong "music video", where you feel cheated out of what could have been a great movie.
I still hope they will later on this year, release the documentary about Sir Alex Ferguson, not only through streaming/online, but on DVD/Blu-rays.
Also picked up 3 CD albums:
Roxy Music - Stranded (1973) The Who - Live at Leeds (1970) The Allmann Brothers - At Fillmore East (1971)

Dvd set from Walmart. I usually don't like Superhero movies. But I grew up watching those movies. (And the "Superman" movies.) So... nostalgia. Yeah, that is understandable. I feel very much the same way, about those films and era of Superhero releases. I wonder if there is anything in the potential Directors Cut of Batman Forever, where there seemed to be some heavy rumours last summer, about adding lots of new and "darker" scenes, which could be quite interesting to see how it will or might work out.
