That’s pretty unusual for an MCU trailer.

Well, you have to admit it wasn't as good as their usual trailers.

I said Brie Larson was a good actor and they went for my throat lol. Then you cite Thanos and tell them they should have gone for the head.

I guess nobody there wants the Skrulls introduced? Sounds like a good idea to me!

Anti-feminist scum perhaps. Or, ponder this, maybe Brie Larson could really be miscast in the role? There's no reason to go for the NPC outrage straight off the bat...
If Carol Danvers was played by, say, Emily Blunt, I'd be really anticipating the movie. Brie Larson, on the other hand... meh.

I wasn’t too familiar with Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel, so I wouldn’t of had an issue with the casting.

Anti-feminist scum perhaps. That's what SJWs would have you believe, but most who are not totally in favor of the trailer and the movie in general have legit concerns and criticism of its existence, it is based on a character who Marvel has had a total of six, yes six, unsuccessful relaunches since they turned her from "Ms. Marvel" to "Captain Marvel", which is where some believe began the SJW era for the company - which continues to persist today with its wave of forced diversity and politics, bad writing, underdeveloped characters, and unimpressive artwork coupled with fairly unprofessional "professional" comic artists and writers who enjoy harassing their critics on social media. This on-screen portrayal is more in-line with the more recent, bland, mary sue-ish version of the character as opposed to the older, more complex and fascinating version from the 80's, 90's, and early 00's. You have those who say Captain Marvel will be the face of the MCU going forward which does not raise expectations very much given that there are other much more charismatic and interesting characters that have already been introduced to the MCU that would be better suited to be its face going forward - such as Black Panther. Brie Larson, while a fine actress, has not really proven to be serious action heroine potential yet and doesn't really have the look for one, either. She seems more at home in much smaller, indie fare than mainstream blockbusters. So far with all the footage released she just looks bored and uninterested. I think more would be excited if, say, Emily Blunt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Charlize Theron, Katheryn Winnick, or Yvonne Strahovski were playing Carol instead. It doesn't really help matters either that Larson is a major SJW herself and has made some pretty eye brow raising statements and actions in recent memory which do not nothing but turn off fans - Said critics' opinion on a film like "A Wrinkle In Time" are meaningless if it wasn't 'made for them', as in straight white males. Shared a meme of all past MCU characters being forced to smile on their posts in response to the criticism of her lack of smiling in the original teaser for the film. Took a photo on Instagram of herself at a coffee shop with her legs crossed, looking uncaring as she commented on Stan Lee's passing( she deleted it soon after). I think the movie will turn out okay in the end, but will be deemed overrated quick because shill media will make out to be better than it already is, and if a critical and financial disappointment I can see corporate media trying to spin this as a "it was too sophisticate for mainstream audiences" or "there is a toxic masculinity issue here in America" and whatnot.

I'd say most probably would be less harsh on the movie if you had Emily Blunt as Carol instead, she is a much better and more charismatic actress than Larson, also more diverse and even a more believable action heroine.

That's true. I've only ever heard of her from Room, which I haven't seen.
I'll say this though. Until I was seeing it with my own eyes, I never thought I would see Paul Rudd play a superhero and he's doing alright.

Yeah that’s kind of unfortunate. I wouldn’t think she’s an SJW herself. Not to mention the blank stare Larson gives won’t sell it the way we’d want it to. I guess I was overreacting to the hate comments thinking that would be the case.

I've seen people call her 'Captain SJW.' Sure some criticism is legit, the movie isn't for everyone, but some is motivated by sexism because they're just never OK with a superhero that isn't a straight white guy.

In my opinion, I've found that the MCU isn't quite as good with their female casting choices as they are with their male ones. I think Scarjo, Zoe Saldana, Natalie Portman and Tilda Swinton were all miscast for their roles. Larson might join this group depending on how she performs in her movie. Jaimie Alexander as Sif and Smulders as Hill as pretty meh. Thompson (Valkyrie), Olsen (SW), Paltrow (Potts) and Gillan (Nebula) are decent enough but don't really stand out and could have been better. The only one who was really great was Blanchett as Hela. I do have hope though, since the ladies they cast for BP were all pretty good (except for Shuri, I'm not a fan of Shuri).

They all grew on me, with the sole exception of Gwyneth Paltrow who I didn't like from the start. Even though I got a kick out of Tilda Swinton whooping it up in the Marvel universe, my ears hear things about cultural appropriation and the role being better served by an Asian actress. I'll take their word for it since I don't know what the character looks like beyond Tilda Swinton.
I definitely agree that the male casting is out of the park, and I thought the ladies from Black Panther were terrific too.
Natalie Portman was interesting. I hear that she phoned it in a little on Thor 2 because they fired her homie Pattie Jenkins. Maybe it's with a little irony that I think one of the best and most decorated actresses of their lot was miscast. She can probably act circles around Jaimie Alexander but in costume and in character, Jaimie Alexander does kind of look like a better match for Thor.
I had my doubts about Olsen but she picked up as her accent declined and her brother died.
Do you watch the Netflix shows too? It could be my imagination but their female casting seem a lot better cast.

I'm not saying that MCU is terrible with their female casting, just that they aren't as successful with it as their male casting. Thus why you kinda have to get them to "grow on you". But I guess I agree with much of what you say anyway. The Netflix (and especially the ABC) shows have better female casting and a stronger female presence overall. Jessica Jones, Colleen Wing, Melinda May, Peggy Carter, Aida/Madamme Hydra, Daisy Johnson.... these are all strong characters played by well-picked cast. I'm still on the fence about Elektra though. Though she's decent I feel like they didn't really do her character justice, especially when you consider that she's one of the most well-known female characters in the Marvel universe.

Many of the people criticizing Captain Marvel and its trailers are the same folk who liked the Wonder Woman from last year and have expressed favoritism of strong female characters like Ellen Ripley, Leia Organa, Sarah Connor, Beatrix Kiddo, Nyota Uhura, Trinity, Clarice Starling, Mulan, Furiosa, Lara Croft, Selene, and other female heroes from the MCU.
