How? I thought you were being sarcastic. I'm not seeing anything special or notable about that Thor poster. It's not brightly colored. A fraction likes to bitch about marvel being for kids. The only people I've ever seen doing that have been teens trying to sneak into R or unrated films.

Well it was significantly better. It's no surprise that the consensus is that Ragnarok was easily the best of three and vastly more successful because of it. in the real world of comic movies and norse mythology ragnarok is the worse.
did the first two films have issues. yes but at least they had the real content of thor and his fantasy mythos.
thor 3 was just gotg part 3 in a bad way. the movie should not have been a comedy.
also this is when the critics bias became more obvious, how critics can give a pass to making a joke out of the name ragnarok is just a lie.
And exactly how much of a toss did you give about Norse Mythology before you found out it was another criticism you could throw at the MCU? But if really bothers you so much consider this. In the first series of Agents Of SHIELD the following conversation takes place - Skye: You guys may think it's old news, but it's new... news to everybody else. So, Asgardians are aliens from another planet that visited us thousands years ago? Phil Coulson: Or more. Skye: And because we couldn't understand aliens, we thought they were gods? Phil Coulson: That's where our Norse mythology comes from.Ragnarok as a myth was created on Earth by humans. But it never happened. On Asgard it is a prophecy. When it does eventually happen, NOW, it resembles the prophecy rather than the Earth created myth.

So in highlight of my criticism about MCU and their colors only there to attract children, anyone remember the first thor poster or were some of you not born yet?
it is really so bad to see mcu has derailed like this. look at this beautiful epic poster. this was a marvel film with potential.
I have to ask how do we go from this to this
so mcu fans u see how much your movies declined as an art form. also remember the tone? thor 1 was pretty serious. jokenock...well.
This would make sense if it weren't for the fact that Ragnarok was the much better film.

This all begs the question:
Has anyone done any serious Slurpee souvenir cup design analysis yet?

hmm...thor 2 another movie with potential. I also see some Gladiator from the posters. still one of the most serious mcu movie apart from that jane's friend and her awful boyfriend and the villain. the movie had issues but again could be corrected.
Its beyond disgraceful mcu felt the only way to save thor was to make him a parody even in the posters.
and look at hulk, lol. I understand why ed norton will never have sunk that low to be in thor 3.

They were gonna make Thor 3 a serious movie following on from Thor 2 but apparently the test screening was recieved poorly so they ended up making it a goofy comedy. Shame because Thor 2 had great potential for a threequel

what a shame

Once again, this would make more sense if it were not for the fact that Ragnarok was BY FAR the best film of the three.

It is by far the best if you like actual good movies that are well written and entertaining. Thor 3 is a far better movie than Thor 2. That is pretty much a no brainer.

Thor has had many different iterations in the comic books, not just dark and serious. It's not the movie I would have preferred or wanted, but I can at least respect that the movie takes it's inspiration and influence from the comics, specifically Jack Kirby's contributions. And it's still an entertaining flick.

Taiki Waititi never cared for the comics and hated them Thors main personality which every one knows about is perfectly represented in the first 2 Thor films whilst getting the tone and mythological aspects accurate too. Ragnarok dumbed him down and betrayed his demeanour, personality and bravado of what Thor is about. Please show me where hes crying like a girl in the comics of getting his hair cut. Youl probably say that im being hypocritical because Xmen are not comic accurate but youd be mistaken. They get the mythology, tone and character traits/personality correct and have never butchered a character like Thor was in Ragnarok.

It was way too goofy and the humor was taken too far. I would have preferred something closer to the first two films as far as how the character and mythology was portrayed. But overall, it was still an entertaining movie. I guess I'm just a little more forgiving when it comes to these films, because I was never that much of a fan of Thor growing up.
