So in highlight of my criticism about MCU and their colors only there to attract children, anyone remember the first thor poster or were some of you not born yet?
it is really so bad to see mcu has derailed like this. look at this beautiful epic poster. this was a marvel film with potential.
I have to ask how do we go from this to this
so mcu fans u see how much your movies declined as an art form. also remember the tone? thor 1 was pretty serious. jokenock...well.

It’s a character poster, more in line with this one from Ragnarok:

This Thor Infinity War poster is pretty slick:

I happen to like the Ragnarok poster, but you're right. That first Thor poster is a thing of beauty. its also a symbol of some individual film making, the guy who directed thor is a Shakespearian actor so you see how thor can pass of hamlet for a game of thrones characters or something from LOTR or hamlet.
Ragnarok poster stands for disney toy ad cooperate madness, a formula. gotg redux, there is no film making input to it,. it is disney mcu at their worst in lack of creativity.

Dont remember that first Thor poster but looking at it then scrolling down to Ragnarok one made me nearly throw up. Its okay though, atleast we had 2 real Thor films before they made that travesty of Ragnarok.

Let's turn it into a better one: favorite MCU movie posters?

thor 1 was pretty serious. jokenock...well. Well it was significantly better. It's no surprise that the consensus is that Ragnarok was easily the best of three and vastly more successful because of it.

That actually made me LOL
In regards to Thor 1 being pretty serious, I'm surprised to see you think that. Aside from the Asgard stuff, I thought the movie was pretty silly considering it was directed by Branagh. All the New Mexico scenes felt out of place. There is a scene where the Warriors Three find Thor on Earth and they look like a bunch of doofs. It felt like something I would've seen during the first half of season 1 of Agents of SHIELD.
I completely understand why some people don't like Ragnarok. But the reason I like it is because it's actually TRYING to be goofy and funny. Would I preferred a more serious take on the material? Definitely. But the first one is just unintentionally silly. At least in my opinion.

For people ashamed of comic book Thor and Norse mythology yeh. I have no idea what the comic was like in that regard. As a film though, Ragnarok was just the significantly better movie. Where Thor was one of the weaker ones because it was generic and toned down. Ragnarok was fun and interesting.

I remember the last time I watched Thor thinking it felt like an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D with an unusually high budget.

Let's turn it into a better one: favorite MCU movie posters? That black and white poster they did for Guardians 2. It took me forever to even notice Rocket Raccoon was at the bottom.

On of my favorite common themes with Thor, is how in the first film he immediately gets tasered by Darcy, and goes down, and then how the same thing happens in Ragnarok when he gets to Sakaar. Poor Thor.

So you admit that you judge a movie's quality based on their poster? If you hate Ragnarok so much then it must be really painful for you to know that it's considered better than at least half the X-men movies.
