Films - try to discount the "cinema" experience and whatever advantages (or disadvantages) that may present, still predicting this will be the clear winner TV series - including "reality" programs News and Documentaries - including legitimate documentary TV series Sport - again discounting attending live events

Easily films for me
I watch a bit of narrative TV, just about to start Westworld series 2, and sometimes have lifestyle type shows or news on in the background. I watch documentaries but not very often and sport is limited to occassionally watching Tennis for an hour or so.

Film and TV programs equally...
It just depends what I'm in the mood for.

i never watch films at home. What about older films, or ones you missed at the cinema, rewatching favorites? no in the last ten-15 years or so. i am weird that way. i only like to see films in the cinema. so i only saw starwars recently and never saw any godfather. just caught Scarface in the cinema couple months ago for the first time . I was BLOWN AWAY by it. I loved the movie a lot. this way i feel like i have a lot of movies to look forward to. and since i see everything new at the cinemas the movies are not puling up. and in my younger years i watched a lot of movies on the tv so i feel that other than the Godfathers and Dirty Harry and Total Recall I am pretty up to date with the “key” movies.

Films. I enjoy documentaries a lot too. I am always looking for a good show, but I'm picky.

Fair enough, it seems like your interest tends more toward newer films and if you live in large city you probably get a decent amount of older films showing at cinemas/galleries etc. My interests lean more toward older films so I find I "have" to watch a lot of stuff at home if I want to see the things I'm interested in. Nothing beats a cinema showing though so I still try to catch older films on the big screen if the opportunity comes up as well as getting to a few new release each year.

Nothing beats a cinema showing though so I still try to catch older films on the big screen if the opportunity comes up as well as getting to a few new release each year. whats also really interesting to experience in the cinema with a crowd or at least few other people is to see in real time how people view and react to a particular movie. during the summer i saw the graduate for the first time in the cinema (i did see that one dozens of time on tv an a vhs tape growing up but never in the cinema) and I was surprised to learn where people laughed and how much. to me it was always predominantly a drama but here i realized maybe to americans its a dramedy or they certainly seemed to have found more humor in it. and i like those experiences, even if i dont speak to the other people there, the observation of the crowd behaviour and reaction to the movie does add to my overall experience. i also love when people clap after a movie. or even during a movie. i mean thats such a nonsensical reaction since there is nobody from the creators who would see it. but people still do it. its CLEARLY about communicating ones emotions to the rest of the crowd. Love that.

I absolutely despise news because it's so often negative and leaves me sad. I hate to watch news also because it's full of politicians - a group of people I detest. To be honest I was not always so. I took the advice of the member called OldSamVimes who suggested that we should keep negative things away from our lives. I think I have not followed news since 2015. IMDB/IMDB v2 has been my main source of news for the last 3 years. I like watching sports and movies. In terms of the time consumed, sports is no.1 and movies are no.2. But I like them both a lot. I do not like television. Though I am a massive fan Game of Thrones. A rough estimate of time spent between 4 of the categories listed. Sports 70% Movies 25% News and Television - 5%

How'd I forget to include that on the poll. I have to say that I thought it a serious omission!

Nora 's current avatar reminds me so much of that wallaby avatar that you had for years on old IMDB. What is interesting is that once or twice someone mistook Nora for you because she is also not an American, is a blonde and is alleged to be an anti-American (by the member called poelzig).

Since I've had my iPad I almost can't watch a film or show anymore without pausing it and using my iPad for a while as a distraction. If I'm wanting to look something up and it's on my mind it is just too tempting as it's right there.
