Don't think he knows enough about the sport to coach. I think he only played for like one or two seasons in high school.

$5 million buyout, don't know if UCLA will do that. Where would he recruit from? Hard to say.

I don't see Barnes's personality being conducive to Westwood. Definitely always liked him as a coach, though - - one of the many who used Providence as a stepping stone to get to bigger jobs.

UCLA needs a big hire. They were dumb to fire Alford in mid-season. He was toast but it served no purpose to can him in December. UCLA and the Pac-12 are becoming an after thought. The conference has sucked for the last two seasons, despite Oregon's Sweet 16 run this year The two big programs are UCLA and Arizona, Oregon close. Arizona is under a cloud and the Bruins have been mediocre at best. The SEC hired some big name coaches. UCLA is hanging in the wind unless they are waiting for Chris Beard or Tony Bennett. It's a tough job, with history literally hanging over their heads every minute. Any coach is going to get a good contract and at least three years. Make a poor choice and you can sink further down the list of top programs.
