Nobody is going to shut up. This controversy is bigger than the Saints. Cheating ruins the integrity of the game. Anybody honest and not blind could see the Saints got fucked on purpose by cheating refs. If it can happen to the Saints, it could happen to anybody.

The Rams had no support in LA when they were good before. I will not be surprised if the residents of Los Angeles use this as further reason not to support pro football in LA.

As a resident of New Orleans and a Saints fan, I don't blame the Rams or the residents of Los Angeles. I believe the refs cheated on orders from the league for financial purposes.

Truly laughable seeing a Saints fan accuse the NFL of rigging a game against the Saints. If anything, the NFL rigged games in favor of the Saints after Katrina in order to get them to a Super Bowl.

The Saints and Chiefs should play an exhibition game on the same day as the super bowl in protest to shitty ref calls. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/tek3suwt5/laugh.gif) aren't there 'consolation games' in soccer and the little league world series? i.e. the 2 losers face off? it's pretty much like 95% of the meaningless College Football Bowl Games nowadays or the NIT College Basketball Tourney. how do you get geared up to play those games?

I think both theories (the league rigged 2009 so the Saints win and that there was a league wide conspiracy to keep the Saints out this year) pretty far fetched unless Brett Favre was in on it. When you take the lead on the very next play of this heinous act of robbery and then the opposition has to kick a 48 yd FG to advance it to OT. Then these conspirators are too lazy to load the coin toss in OT. And then Drew Brees throws one of the worst passes he's ever thrown and then still have to kick a 57 yd FG. Conspiracies don't leave that much to chance. You'd be able to find numerous instances of the refs actively working against the team before and after that call. Not one call late in the game that only mattered because of some impossible to predict variables that came afterward.
It's a Cardinals/ Royals situation. Yeah sure, if the ump makes the right call the game's over, but it doesn't suddenly mean the Cards were slaves to fate. They still had control of their own destiny and decided to piss their pants.

The NFL told the refs, "If the game is close, do what you can to help the Rams and hurt the Saints." No, the NFL didn't kick the field goals. But the refs did NOT call a roughing the passer on the Drew Brees interception although Brees was hit in the head. The refs did NOT call interference on the Rams on the Brees interception. I saw no evidence the NFL helped the Saints into the Super Bowl in 2009.

They still had control of their own destiny and decided to piss their pants. Regarding the Cardinals/Royals situation, the ump does get most of the blame for that game. The ump's blown call effectively gave the Royals an extra out, which basically meant that the Cardinals had to play with a disadvantage (i.e. the opponent getting a 4th out in the 9th inning). Imagine if you play golf or any other sport against someone and you gave them an advantage. It's a lot harder to win when you have to give an advantage to an opponent.

But the point most people are missing is - as an objective fan you want close battles between equally matched opponents. These games will hopefully come down to one play. If they are equally matched opponents, and a good game, it won't be a blowout. A superior opponent can overcome bad calls. But if it is really close, one bad call can decide a game. That was the case in both the Chiefs/Patriots game. And Rams/Saints game. The Saints were just good enough to barely beat the Rams. But not good enough to beat both the Rams and crooked refs. Do fans want close games determined by good or bad play? Or close games determined by cheating refs?

I agree, the Saints had further opportunities. They had the lead with a minute and a half left. And they got the ball first in overtime. Like I said, you either have to blow an opponent out. Or the refs (NFL) will cheat for their desired winner. In other words, the objective fan will never get a close match between equally matched opponents going down to the last minute. If it is close, the refs (NFL) will step in and cheat for one team or another. "If you are going to blame this loss on one play, you don't know football." -Movieliker

Ok I understand it hurts and it's the easy thing to blame the refs. I've done my fair share of blaming officials over the years. It was a horrendous no call that can't be denied. However I've got to ask. If this was this giant conspiracy to either screw the Saints or to benefit the Rams I have to ask what is the motivation? Why would the NFL want to screw the Saints this way? Why would they want the Rams to be in the Super Bowl? You're saying the order came down basically Code Red style from higher ups in the NFL. If the NFL were doing such things don't you think they'd do it for ratings? In doing so don't you think they'd have done it to make a team like the Cowboys get to the Super Bowl compared to a team that doesn't really have a shit ton of support in the Rams?
