Let's say Batman was completely removed from existence. Him, his sidekicks, his villains, all characters that originated from Batman's story arcs.... all gone. Will DC survive such a loss?

No. Batman even had to be rushed in to save the DCU from MOS. Superman is one of the most common acknowledged boring characters out there, and he's their second best. Just look what Marvel did without the X-Men or Spiderman. Not to mention without Daredevil, Punisher, and the Fantastic Four. That's a lot of big names and they were still able to crush it. DC has no hope of doing that. They are weak and always have been.

Marvel made GOTG a cultural phenomenon and who the hell ever heard of them before it came out? It takes work and WB/DC didn't want to work as hard as Marvel did until it bit them in the ass finally.

Well do you mean like he was never created? Or that he was no longer allowed to be used?
Also do you mean solely in films or in every medium.

The Arrowverse has managed to get by without Batman. They did use Ra's Al Ghul, but he didn't appear until season 3 of Arrow. Also, before anyone brings him up, Deadshot isn't really considered a Batman villain these days.

Because Marvel knows what they're doing.

It would be a big blow, but DC would survive.

Ummm I think they'd have issues for a while, but perhaps without having Batman to depend upon they'll open up to a Green Arrow, a Question. I mean say what you will about the CW shows, whether or not you like them, you have to admit they seem to be doing quite well without any marquee names (aside from flash).

No, it was through Batman that I was introduced to not only the DC universe, but comics as a whole.
I like to pretend that my experience matters a great deal, so if I wouldn't care about DC without Batman, then nobody else would either.

Superman is supposedly tough, since I guess he's boring, impossible to relate to, and outdated? Idk, Points people bring up when they talk about supes, so the character has to find a way to overcome those preconceived notions. WW, Flash, Cyborg, AQ (well.....him less so), don't really have a defined persona in the public landscape, so people don't really know what to make of them aside from their powers, I mean even with Aquaman it was just a simple casting to completely change how the general public perceived him.

Marvel created their cinematic universe without Spider Man and the X Men. GoTG, Ant Man and Dr. Strange were box office hits.
Can DC do the same without Batman? Only if they have the right people in charge, folks who know how to plan for the long term and willing to take risks with unknown characters.

I think this is a really strong point; execution means everything under these -- hypothetical-- circumstances. Credit where credit's due: brownstones is largely making the same point, which I read as: sure, they've got big names and IPs, but how to make them "compelling"? I think (an exec at) DCEU would say they are attempting that by getting Whedon. Time's gonna tell on that one though.

The funny thing about this is that I just heard a theory that they are hijacking the DCEU from Snyder and creating a Batman universe. The movies they have announced are 4 Batman related movies (The Batman, Nightwing, GCS and Batgirl) and Wonder Woman, Justice League and Aquaman. And the last 3 are already filming or finished filming. The Flash solo (?... at one point they added Cyborg) movie sounds like it died quietly. MOS2 is kinda, maybe, probably... Same with Black Adam and Shazam.

None of those films have set release dates yet, and there has also been a Justice League Dark movie announced with Doug Liman as the director anyway. They aren't hijacking anything.

I think they'd be fine. It would push them to be more creative and bring out lesser known characters

MOS didn't need saving,it was fine It wasn't the worst thing ever, but there is a reason Lois, tornadocide, destruction porn, and much more, are made fun of in that film. Why else do you thin that Snyder wrote Batman's character in BVS entirely around acknowledging the destruction and showing it again? It's not because he planned that before hand. It's because the criticism was so large he had the address it.
I mean be honest with yourself. The movie had 2 scenes so bad they have names. And that doesn't even count falling away from a black hole, faora's stupid death, zod taking lois prisoner for no reason other than the plot needed it, and the bizarre atmosphere plot.
