84% would be pretty high for a DCEU movie. Whoa. Shots fired. It's true though. Aquaman is considered one of DCEU's better movies and its RT score is lower than Thor TDW.

It's at 84% now. Which I think if it stays at that would make it the lowest rated since Age of Ultron. Well GotG2 is also 84%... From what I recall, that film was also at an 81% for a while.

So it seems to be exactly as I expected. It's competently made and if you like the MCU you'll like it. If not, you won't. And Larson gives a lackluster performance.
Perfectly predictable.

Funny, that sounds like Shazam. Jokes are only really a problem in Marvel movies. For some reason, they can be overlooked in Star Wars, Die Hard, The Godfather or even other superhero movies. There's a fair few posters here who'd be tearing Deadpool a new asshole if it was an MCU movie. I think it's because they're all like it. Amongst comic book movies you have some movies like The Dark Knight, Punisher and Logan or even Dredd and then on the other side you have movies like Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy and Fantastic Four. Even amongst the DCEU you have Man of Steel and then on the flip side you have Shazam. With the MCU they all have that same jokey feel to them. Some more than others but they all have jokes. None of them are dark or serious or R Rated, they're all light PG-13 movies with a lot of jokes, every one of them. [/quote][/div]
-----------------------------------------------
Screenplay is marvel's biggest problem. I have never watehed a marvel film and have gotten impressed with the story itself. they are all so thin in plot.
it is better to take convoluted plot like dofp as critics called it than a thin plot like an mcu movie.

Pretty much. Apparently they tried to make Brie to be more like RDJ than just let her do her thing. Although from what I've heard/Read was that Brie is good in the scenes that are more dramatic or more serious. Basically Marvel wanted her to be more like a female Tony Stark when really she should be her own character. So if that's the direction Marvel wants to go for Captain Marvel then Brie really is miscast as Carol Danvers.

83% if it was a fox movie = 71% DC=51% SONY MOVIE=61% What a joke. I would like to have a word with this critics giving it good revie for cgi and jokes. Whats funny is look at the RT scores and consensus for: Aquaman 65% : Aquaman swims with its entertainingly ludicrous tide, offering up CGI superhero spectacle that delivers energetic action with an emphasis on good old-fashioned fun. Man of Steel 56% : Man of Steel's exhilarating action and spectacle can't fully overcome its detours into generic blockbuster territory. Captain Marvel 82%* : Packed with action, humor, and visual thrills, Captain Marvel introduces the MCU's latest hero with an origin story that makes effective use of the franchise's signature formula. See the disparity. Aquaman described as good old fashioned fun but barely gets fresh. Man of Steel is supposedly generic and gets rotten. Captain Marvel is described both fun and formulaic yet gets over 80%. All 3 have great action and visuals yet somehow cap marvels screenplay is superior? And nearly all of mcu films are generic blockbusters yet only MoS gets criticised for that. There is no neutrality
