They seem to have a complete lack of understanding as to how the gospels were chosen and put together in almost a jigsaw fashion from other contemporary works which have often come to light in the last century or two. Random quotations fail to take any context from the geopolitical and and church politics that played such a crucial part in the way the Bible was constructed, especially with the exclusion of any gnostic thought. In America they are still a big voice in church matters I believe though. I don't consider them Christians myself. Obsessed with cherry picking bits of the old testament that support their personal prejudices only, whilst ignoring others. Willfully failing to accept Christ's teaching. Even Christians willfully fail to accept Christ's teachings.

Do not judge, Our Father will deal with you how you deal with other people. Love and Compassion is the key.

But humans can't seem to do that. We are the most hate-filled, destructive species probably in all the cosmos, if there are other beings out there.

2 Samuel Chapter 6 (King James Version) According to the Bible God killed someone for this. According to your 'misinterpretation' of the Bible, you mean. OK, let's hear your "interpretation" of those two verses.

That’s why we need a saviour.

What does it mean do not judge? It's too advanced for you. Just be nice. If Christians are not to judge anyone full stop how do we interpret verses like this? “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.””JOHN 7:24

Seriously people...having read through this thread, it is like having surveillance microphones in the Club Room of the mental asylum.
I have never read more absolutely and totally ridiculous nonsense before on any thread except perhaps where Heeeeey talks about 'science'.
You DO realise that this division in apparently one religion of Christianity tends to make any semblance of truth in all your beliefs pale into insignificant nonsense, right?
I call it bickering over bullshit.

goz, just be glad they're not arguing over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. None. They are beings of spirit, without physical form 😉

You are only here to be an insolent troll.

You are only here to be an insolent troll. Wow, so much for that Christ-like tolerance...perhaps Heeeyyy needs a saviour . BTW, Heeeyy seemingly suggests that the so-called 'Golden Rule' is a concept unique to Christ's teachings. Actually, a number of historical figures, some overtly tied to religious beliefs, some as philosophers, beat Jesus to the punch on this centuries before he was a twinkle in Mary's beady little eye: www.thehoodedsage.com/2012/04/the-golden-rule/

goz , just be glad they're not arguing over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. None. They are beings of spirit, without physical form 😉 The Scholastics also argued that Hell was not a physical place; rather it was the sense of eternal separation from God that would be the everlasting torment of those who rejected him/her/it. However, in practice, it was found that a concept as abstract as that wasn't too good for scaring thick-witted peasants into proper abasement to and fear of the Creator, so a more literal and uncomfortable physical depiction of eternal torture was put into place. As usual, even amongst the most devout Christians, the incorporeal spirit tends to give way to the carnal and corporeal flesh when necessity demands it .

And what are Christ’s teachings? The Golden Rule. Did Jesus not also teach that it is the will of the Father for everyone to believe in his Son for salvation? Do you accept Jesus as your saviour and follow him?

If Christians are not to judge anyone full stop how do we interpret verses like this? “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.””JOHN 7:24 Jesus didn't say that bit of cherry picking. 'Righteous judgment' could refer to choosing not to judge at all. That's the problem with the Bible being in the hands of people who use it to manipulate people for an agenda.

Did Jesus not also teach that it is the will of the Father for everyone to believe in his Son for salvation? Do you accept Jesus as your saviour and follow him. You have to know who He is and where He is to know how incomplete and misleading that passage is. I'm not going to bother with the passages that men of that day used for an agenda.
