Give it a break. The whole freakin' anti-choice movement is the product of the far right evangelicals manipulating secular laws that guarantee the right to abortion, essentially succeeding in many states' passing laws and provisions designed to intimidate providers away. The evangelical right has been successful in getting laws passed that allow for businesses to refuse to provide insurance for contraceptives if a company or owner decides it goes against their religious beliefs. Evangelicals have done end runs around laws in many states that had abolished prayer in schools, and there have been a number of instances of individuals refusing to do their jobs of granting marriage licenses to gay couples or filling prescriptions for birth control pills, even when the law demanded that they do so, with these cases tying up the courts while the Christian right tries to argue that the individuals' religious beliefs should be permitted to override secular laws. The US is becoming the laughingstock of the West for the degree of latitude it's ceded to the Christ-nutters. And don't give me that tired old drill about all the power 'them atheists' have of getting religious symbols removed from public places. For every one instance of that happening there are twenty more of Christ-zealots denying rights to atheists to hold public office, teach, or even publicly exercise their first amendment rights to air their views. Then you attempt to hide behind typical boilerplate Islamophobia, and that droning whine about how us satanic types love every other religion but hate Christianity...which may pass muster with the gang of toddlers who fall for that line, but fools no one with an IQ above room temperature. Cite me some examples of all this Muslim social engineering you claim is so rampant (and I mean documented cases with solid evidence, and not the usual idiot urban-legend/Alex Jones mouth-breather crap your sort tend to be fond of peddling), and we'll see how those instances stack up against the myriad examples of evangelical attempts to tinker with secular law that take place in this country on a damn near daily basis. And the left whines over a bakery while gays in Muslim countries get shoved off rooftops. And the left whines over a bakery while gays in Muslim countries get shoved off rooftops. The percentage of Muslims in the US is miniscule, so I would have to direct you to countries where Islam is the majority religion so that you can make your own comparison. Where would you rather live? "And the left whines over a bakery while gays in Muslim countries get shoved off rooftops." Which answers my above point how, exactly? Oh, right, it doesn't--it's an evasive move on your part since you can't deny the factuality of what I posted. And, as per usual, you can't deny my baseline point that rightwing Christian extremists can and do bend secular law in the US to their will on an ongoing basis, so you also come back with the tired saw about whether 'you'd rather live here or in an Islamic country'. We are here, sweetie, and we're discussing here, so confine your answers to the nation we're actually living in. After you demonstrate that you can do this, we'll move on to those Islamic nations that I suspect you know little or nothing about daily life in, as apart from the sensationalized schlock Faux News drip feeds to you.

Where would you rather live? In the US with all the awful Christians or in a Muslim country? You can't respond to the answer I provided detailing just a few of the various ways in which the Christian right attempts, and succeeds, in derailing secular law in the US (which you attempted to claim wasn't the case), so you're now going to keep banging away at trying to switch the topic. Answer me on the points I made, then I'll answer your subject. If you can't provide an answer specifically to my points, it tells me you're full of sh!t, and evasive to boot, and aren't worth the effort to continue the discussion. But just so you don't think you've scored points with the fundies, here's a list of countries with large/majority Muslim populations that are beautiful, safe for non-Muslims, and would be, with a couple of exceptions, quite safe for a non-believer to live in: www.tripoto.com/trip/stunning-muslim-countries-that-everyone-needs-to-visit-589d74869163aI saw several on that list I'd be more than happy to move to, should I be fortunate enough to come into the money it would take to relocate. But you stick around and be content with the earthly paradise you believe the US to be, lol. BTW, in my misspent youth I visited Morocco for a couple of months, and it was gorgeous, safe, and I had some of the best time of my life among Allah's own. From what I gather, nothing about the place has changed, and I hope to get a chance to visit again before I'm too old to enjoy it properly. So thanks for helping to revive some very pleasant memories .

She had to take out Australian citizenship to be able to go, for a start ( as US citizens were unwelcome in Iran...I wonder why)and THEN Trump makes his pronouncements about US citizens who have travelled to certain countries SO (get this) she has to travel to her home country of US on her new Australian passport to attend her son's wedding in New York in June AND attend a foundation meeting of a charitable foundation her family set up which give millions of dollars each year to charities in the Denver area. Crazy?

Show me all the instances of where this small but supposedly highly influential cabal of Muslims--outside of the Arab emirs who are influencing Trump not to bring international law to bear on a Saudi prince who's responsible for a heinous murder, that is--have imposed Sharia (which means law in Arabic, so saying 'Sharia law' is a redundancy, btw) in the US. I'm not aware of it's having been imposed on me in any of my day-to-day activities, and I very much doubt if you are either. I can, on the other hand, cite a number of instances in which the Christoids have managed to reshape secular laws in ways that do impact my life, such as health care and insurance coverage. No Islamic has done this or anything remotely equivalent that I know of. And as for the bolded part of your quote: can you really think of nothing more original to add to this topic than a quaint variant of Archie Bunker's "America: Love it or leave it"? Even the background of cricket noise that usually follows whenever someone pins you down on a point you can't answer to your satisfaction is better than that .

Yes, I know, but I'm referring to how that's okay with you and they're not being bigots, but the US is bigoted and racist to you for doing the same thing when Trump merely wanted to do a better job of vetting Muslim tourists who were entering the US from terrorist-harboring countries. You liberals acted like he was going to permanently ban every single Muslim from the US. You think the US is supposed to open the border to whoever wants to come in, no questions asked.

You know damned well that Islam is a tiny minority in the US and can't be fairly compared on an equal level with Christianity. If you want a fair comparison, I'll tell you again to compare the 'best' Muslim country to the US. If you would prefer to live in the 'best' Muslim country, then save your money and move your ass there.

OMG. Wearing clothing you don't like. Serving an alternative food choice in a restaurant. Easy to understand how outrages like that would cause a snowflake for Jesus like yourself to go into meltdown mode. The substantive negative impact that these instances have on your life can hardly be quantified in a way that would do sufficient justice to the magnitude of entirely justifiable righteous fury they've provoked in you.
