Funny coming from Hamilton, he was shitting on Gasly last season when he drove for RBR.
Anyway, Gasly won, its great, but, lets be real, if it wasnt for the safetycar/red flag and HAM 10 sec stop and go penalty, he wouldnt be in the position to go for the win. So lets not treat him like he is the second coming of Prost. Also, the RBR car is almost undrivable, we saw Gasly fail in a much better car. He seemed to cave under the pressure and he couldnt even overtake much slower cars. All that changed when he was put back at TR. Not everyone has it in him to drive for a top team. But hey, maybe his second stint at TR/AT is what he needed to get ready for RBR and he is ready.
Still, Albon needs to go, but I dont know if Gasly is the solution.
I think i read that Jenson Button likened what Max is doing in the Red Bull to Senna. If that is the case and Red Bull decide to part ways with Alex then who should they put in the car? Where are they going to get another Max? Rumour is they know this and will stick with Alex for now. They dont need another Max, they need their own version of Bottas. A driver that is good enough to stay close-ish to your main driver but not good enough to drive in his way. Lets just hope they build a more stable car for next season. I like both Albon and Gasly, but both have been very disappointing in RBR. But Albon at least showed he has the balls to go for the overtakes, thats his plus.

What i was getting at is maybe the car is so tricky to drive that not even a Bottas could be close enough to Max to be of any help but i suppose that's not something we'll probably ever know but i get what you mean and agree with you.

The factory Honda team in MotoGP are in a similar position with Marc Marquez the only one who is competitive with various other riders trying and failing to get to grips with the bike over the last few years. Jorge Lorenzo destroyed himself on it! With Marc currently injured Honda are no where, although Nakagami seems to be making progress now that he has help from Marc's team in his absence. Honda have signed Pol Espagaro for next season who has been doing wonders with the KTM he's been riding the last few seasons which supposedly has been an absolute pig to ride up to this year so that's a good logical signing from Honda.

I kind of agree with you all that whether to return to RBR or drive with AlphaTauri is a very precarious situation for Gasly. Especially given the fact that Gasly seems to have a very good understanding with the crew of his current team.
If I were Gasly I would probably have desired to drive for the bigger team once again. His season has been good and would still be even if he didn't come first in the last race. He has generally been good in F-1 since leaving Red Bull. Pretty evident by the fact that his partner has just 4 points against his 43.Even in Belgium Gasly looked good.

Vettel gets a lifeline to stay in F1 with Perez's departure from Racing Point.
Looks like Lawrence Stroll decided to wield the axe in order to secure Vettel, despite Perez's dedication to the team. If it wasn't for Perez Racing Point might not even exist today.
Pretty brutal of Stroll to get rid of a driver who brings so much money to the team, but Vettel must be happy, stepping into the seat of a superior team.

It will be interesting to see how he goes next year. There is a good chance he'll do very well and he needs to enjoy while it lasts because they won't have a car to copy for 2022!

I think Vettel may not be the best man in his team next year. He was a great driver once but I think he is not good enough to match a younger driver in most teams.

Could George get a point today?
A strange race so far.

What a shit show it was the first 9 laps, there was no racing. Again Max with the same engine issues as last week, they really need to sort this out. On this track he had a good chance to split the Mercedes cars. That was a hard hit for Lance. Yes Alex, finally!!!

Good to see The Iceman get a point and sad about George.

Edit: Also well done Hamilton, it was a weird race with so many restarts and he kept his cool.

Max's crash pretty much put the kibosh on the race, unfortunately. Haven't laughed so hard listening to Kimi on the radio being the most animated I've ever heard him! ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/m1dg20al5/biggrin.gif)

My wife broke her arm on Sunday morning so i spent the day sat in the car in hospital car parks. So i've only just caught up on F1, MotoGP and Indy Car.
Mugello is one of my fav tracks to watch racing on and i've long wondered what F1 cars would be like around it because it's usually the best races of the MotoGP season. The onboard shots in qualifying were spectacular. I really enjoyed watching the pedal to the metal cornering in the second sector, amazing stuff.
That was a pretty eventful race and one i enjoyed. The pile up on the safety car restart could have been a lot worse and i'm surprised it's not happened before. The drivers involved and immediately in front only have themselves to blame really. I was pleased to see Albon get a podium at last and i was willing Russell to get a point but it didn't quite happen.
MotoGP was as good as ever and there was some class racing in Indy Car.

Some good midfield battles. A lot of time penalties. Hamilton now has 10 penalty points, 2 more for a race ban. Good podium for Verstappen, always good to split the Mercedes cars. Albon...
