I hope Max can get a win today otherwise it may again start looking as if Hamilton is winning yet another title before first half of the season.

Very interesting race but Max got undone by lack of thinking ahead by Red Bull

Great drive from Lewis. It's amazing how long he's managed to stay consistently fast and isn't showing any signs of slowing down. Max i think could have won that race with a better strategist calling the shots. Once again the Haas boys were lapped twice. Mazespin almost three times

Mercedes was the fastest car and Max had no support from Perez, there was no way they could have won it. This was Hungary all over again.

I think Max would have won it had they taken a pit stop before Hamilton. Don't think Hamilton could have overtaken him. The decision makers won it for Mercedes. As good as Hamilton is, I don't think he would have been able to overtake Max here.

It seems Max couldn't stop to cover off Lewis because he didn't have the tires to do it. He had no mediums to change to, only softs, that's why he stayed out.

Also Bottas was in his pitstop window.

I am not much for one driver of a team playing second fiddle to another but Bottas trying to compete with Hamilton at that stage of the race and slowing him down was pretty stupid.

Also Bottas was in his pitstop window. I think it would have been tough for Max to overtake Lewis again even if he had mediums. That said likewise Hamilton would have found it incredibly tough to overtake Lewis too. I think if Verstappen pitted in the next lap after Lewis's second pit, he would not have passed Hamilton as Hamilton's outlap was too fast. So essentially whoever took the 2nd pit earlier was going to be the winner. Although Mercedes tyre strategy made the decision simple for Mercedes.

The undercut is very strong.

The Indycar race was great. It's going to be a classic season if the races carry on being as good as the last few.
MotoGP today was brilliant too.

They should only hold races when there's rain about if that one was any guide! So many twists and turns and great to see Miller win again. Dumb question asked by one of the commentators "When was the last time Marc Marquez crashed out of a race twice?" Round one last year. Geez can you imagine a fully recovered and confident Marc vs a rookie Acosta in a couple of years?

Boring F2 last night. Lungard had to retire from 2nd. Apart from that you had Zhou dominating from pole and nothing much happening behind. Hopefully the reverse grid spices things up for Race 2.

And while I realise this isn't the bikes thread, best wishes to 3x WorldSBK champion Troy Bayliss who broke a vertebrae in his back and damaged his spinal cord in a serious motor bike accident on Thursday. His son Oli is competing in the Australian SBK this year so he's been a regular face on our tellies.

Leclerc takes pole with Max starting at no.2 and Hamilton at 7. Great chance for Max to secure a win here.

A pretty good drive by vettel, Lando and Perez. Quite a deserving win for Max. Interesting standings. Feel sorry for Bottas.

Boring race, but a beautiful podium. This shit always happens to Bottas.

Geez can you imagine a fully recovered and confident Marc vs a rookie Acosta in a couple of years? Technically Marquez didn't crash twice at Jerez last year. His first off track excursion was a fast run through the gravel after saving the front on his knee and elbow. I'd definitely pay to see Acosta vs Marquez in a few years. I would imagine it will be a bit like when Marquez burst on to the scene and he was up against Rossi.
