Verstappen looking comfortable at the moment.
Edit: Well that was an easy one or Max.

A bit of a boring race, but after last week, its ok. Good win for Verstappen. Leclerc was a bit on a destruction path today. I feel bad for Williams and Russell.

I'm not a fan of the Red Bull Ring and once again it gave us a sub par race. Gutted for George but Max and Lewis were in a league of their own once again.
My prediction about Maverick in MotoGP has come true. I wonder if anything will come from the Aprilia rumours and who Yamaha will sign in 2022. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Assen race, MotoGP is in danger of becoming processional if the aero and electronic development continues. We need Marc back to full fitness to make it entertaining again.
BSB had it's first round and it was ok.

The Ducatis and Suzukis just haven't been consistent enough this year to give Fabio regular competition, and Honda's issues became obvious last year when Marquez was out. Quatararo should be even further ahead in the standings than he is given the arm-pump race and the leathers insanity. Vinales to Aprilia looking likely with Ducati out of the running. I was surprised Garret Gerloff got Morbidelli's spot, and even more surprised he didn't try something stupid and take himself and other riders out. He smashed it at Donnington yesterday apparently.

Brilliant race by Lando and another victory by Max. Ricciardo too finally found some form. McLaren looking good.

It was an interesting race but i don't think particularly good. The penalties were a joke. Lando did well. Once again i'm saying i'm gutted for George. Max on the best form of his life.
The main problem was the quality of the show here on UK Sky F1. The quality of the commentary really affects how much i enjoy the race and i'm probably in the minority when i say i'm a fan of Martin Brundles commentary. However he was missing again this weekend and Paul di Resta took over and it was the worst commentary effort i've ever heard. He can barely speak English with most of his sentences ending up an incoherent mess, It pissed me off no end so i was never going to enjoy the race. In fact along with Martin Brundle, Ted Kravitz, Simon Lazenby and Anthony Davidson were also missing making it an empty mess of a show. The world superbike coverage on Eurosport was better which is saying something!

Well, that was lame. I hope this sprint qualifying dies after this season.

I don't mind the superpole race in the SBK, but 100km qualifiers do nothing for me. Sprint races work well in F3 and F2 where the racing is tight and the field is bunched up. Never going to be satisfying in the F1s. If you were racing on a short track oval then it could be fun.
I do think sprint qualifiers are here to stay. It's extra tv content, points up for grabs etc. No brainer really. Hope they have fewer cars involved (only the top 10) and at least half the distance of this one. If you have fewer cars there'll be more risks taken. Poor old Perez might as well pack up and go home starting from last. If it's the top 10 and you crash out at least you're starting mid pack in the main race.

I don't get the sprint race, except that it seems to be something else to shoehorn advertising. The winner yesterday was for some crypto currency. People were excited for laurel wreaths, for chrissakes. You don't have to have another race to introduce them! When spending caps are in place, the sprint race seems to fly in the face of that. It's just another opportunity for burning out car parts, that, if it doesn't impact the real race, could have implications later on in the season. This makes the risk/ reward difficult to predict, which would more likely stymie sprint races. Alonso's 'threading' through the pack probably did a disservice, coaxing the race fan into excitement. He was the only one to really take a risk, but it just happened to open up for him, and he was on soft tires, which had an intial advantage to the hards, but then dropped off within 17 laps. If the race is reliant on different tire choices and track temperature to create a bit of excitement, then stick to qualifying only. "Oh, but it's going to be fun watching Perez charge through the pack." Really?! Driver error and flat spots does not a race make. But, hey, Max extended his lead by a point... ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/480s321zt/eyes.gif) [Edit]: Hopefully a safety car situation that takes 8 laps to resolve will put an end to this nonsense.

Sad.....After a brilliant duel in the first lap, Max is out of the race. Let's see if Lewis gets any penalty or not.

This race weekend sucks for me. Stupid sprint qualifying and now this heavy Max crash. And you just know that Bottas has to let Hamilton by.

Hammy wins again. No. 99. Winning 100 races would be a very major sporting achievement.

Once again the stewards make a shit decision. Kudos to Lewis for overcoming his penalty with a hell of a drive. It's a shame Max ended up in such a big accident but it was a racing incident i reckon. Charles also drove a hell of a race. I'm pretending the sprint nonsense never happened.

I saw the collision as a racing incident, too.
They were both at fault. The cockpit camera showed Max seeing Lewis, correcting his steering to the left, then immediately turning right, whilst Lewis made no adjustment. No quarter was given by either driver.
Boy, was Red Bull miffed!
Hope it doesn't descend into a tit for tat season.

How much of that was fault of Hamilton? Hamilton missed the apex and under/over steered and hit the back tyre, it’s his fault. The good news is, is that Verstappen was cleared from the hospital about half an hour ago.

What did you think of collision ? How much of that was fault of Hamilton? Hamilton missed the apex and under/over steered and hit the back tyre, it’s his fault. The good news is, is that Verstappen was cleared from the hospital about half an hour ago. Interesting to see other drivers' comments on this. Ricciardo's comment - “It was certainly a nasty outcome. It’s obviously at high speed, it doesn’t take much to have a big one like that. “When you’re in such a high-speed corner and just side-by-side, you’re both going to lose aero, particularly Lewis there with Max kind of in a little bit of dirty air. But I think they were both going in hot. “Ultimately Lewis went in too hot for the for the given level of grip and that’s where you see he just drifted up into Max. Completely unintentional, but just the nature of the aero on these cars and you just have to allow a little more, but I’m certainly not going to sit here and judge and say he should have done that or that.” Fernando Alonso - ‘Hamilton couldn’t vanish’ “It is difficult from the outside. It looked quite close, Lewis had more than half a car alongside Max. “So, in a way, Lewis could not disappear from the inside line, it’s not that you can vanish. It was an unfortunate moment of the race, but nothing intentional or nothing that any of the two drivers did wrong in my opinion. I personally think it's 60:40 kind of blame to Hamilton.
