I think the fact he went for something that risky so early in the race shows Lewis' desperation. It's been a while since another driver working for another constructor has beaten him three times in a row. He couldn't let Max disappear down the road a 4th time in succession.

I'd change desperation to determination. It's his home GP and i think he just didn't want to let the crowd letting Max win. I could be completely wrong though and it may be desperation, we'll know if he does it again

Hungaroring seems to sound like a place in Middle-Earth of J. R. R. Tolkien.
I can't wait for today's race.

Oh well, that ruins the race.

These last two races have been very frustrating.

What a win for Ocon and Alpine, that was some massive team effort there. Faultless drive for Ocon and ALonso was on fire. Luckily verstappen got a point with that damaged car. And thank you Gasly for taking the point for fastest lap.
And that was the most hilarious restart I have ever seen.

Well that turned out to be a pretty good race with a nice time for Alonso. Congrats Ocon. McLaren having a very bad time. Pretty sad for Londo not be in points after that McLaren record for most consecutive point finishes. It was not his fault.

Congrats to Ocon. Redemption fully realized by beating Aston Martin who 'dropped' him. That must be extremely satisfying for him.
What a colossal cluster fuck for Bottas. Within 500m he allowed the pendulum to swing in Russell's favor for a Mercedes seat next season. Both Bottas and Russell quickly realized this, with one sitting on the tires contemplating the future, whilst the other got a little too excited. Unfortunately, Russell couldn't really capitalize on his good fortune, but double points is pretty darn good for Williams.
Seeing Hamilton the sole driver on the grid on the restart was bizarre.
Feel bad for Max, and Lando, who was visibly upset by it all.
Well done Alpine. Impressive!

Well that was an interesting race. Gutted for Lando but happy for Esteban. The Lewis and Fernando battle was great to watch. The radio call from George about helping Nicolas was a highlight of the race for me and it was so good to see Williams get both cars in the points. As others have said the start was bizarre, i've never seen that in any class before. It nearly happened in MotoGP at Argentina a few years back when Jack Miller chose the right tires but they didn't allow the start to happen and eventually gave Jack about a 5 row head start which i suppose is equally bizarre.
It was strange to see Lewis struggle on the podium and then later, in a press conference, hint he could be suffering from long covid.

Hi, anyone with an idea on whether the decision to disqualify Vettel from the Hungarian GP is final?

Given this is the thread to discuss "any other racing" on: big MotoGP story with 7x World Champion Valentino Rossi retiring. After some respectable performances last year it's fair to say he went a year too long, probably trying to achieve his 200th podium. Well, like Jack Hobbs he'll leave with 199.
Main memories for me are his rivalry with uberdouche Max Biaggi in the early 00s and then of course with Australian Casey Stoner in the late 00s. He could never get on top of Marquez or Lorenzo in the 2010s.
Anyway, great career for The Doctor. Happy trails!

I am genuinely sad he's retiring. It's an end of an era. I grew up in the Doohan, Rainey, Schwantz era and thought nothing will be as good again but then came Rossi with Giberneau, Biaggi, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Stoner, Marquez. It's been a golden era of racing and again i can't see it being as good again

I expect Marc to be back to near his best by next year and have some great battles with Fabio. I'm interested to see how Remy performs in the top tier and Acosta will be in the top flight soon enough. Note: this auto correct is really pissing me off. Yesterday it turned Biaggi into Baggio and MotoGP into MotorG, now it's insisting that Acosta is Alcoota!

George Russell vs Valtteri Bottas for the 2022 driver market?
George Please. Do not sacrifice a supremely talented driver's chances of proving that he is potentially the best in the world. George is probably as good as Max and most likely better than Lando and Leclerc. Give him a chance please.

I guess i'm saying i felt this way back around 1999 and i was wrong then so i hope i'm wrong again. I really want Marc back to full fitness and wowing us with his on the edge riding. The championship hasn't been the same since he spannered himself and still seems flat to me especially now Valentino is retiring. I've decided i really don't like Fabio so i'm hoping Marc comes back and destroys him. I certainly hope someone stops him winning the championship this year but i don't see who that will be.

It's time to get a real talent in and get him settled for when Lewis hangs up his helmet and i think George is as good as Lewis.

What a bloody race in the MotoGP! So happy for Binder! He dared and it paid off. Shame Marquez crashed when he looked in a good position. Looked a chance of a fairytale podium for Rossi late in the race too.
Fabio almost 2 races ahead now. He's making the title he choked away last year his this year.
