Best thing I learned this week was that one of my coworker who has been slacking, dumping her job on others and just acting like shit while acting has if she was bulletproof (she blows a guy from the union and pretty much everyone knows it except the boss) will get moved to another schedule where we will barely see her in a day.
Great news, of course her union boyfriend (the other being the father of her kids, at home) went to the boss and the part I heard was nothing but lies but it still funny to see him try to show he is defending the widow and the orphan while he is simply defending the girl blowing him.

Thanks Nora. I find VapoDrops are one of the best things to have when you are sick with the flu and they don't always work but when they do they are very helpful and I am grateful we have medication like that now 'cause years ago they didn't and people got very sick and even died from viruses that aren't seen as being that bad anymore. ![](https://i.postimg.cc/wxQZ4yhN/free-avatar-piplup-bubble-by-twilir.gif)

Being in my garden, planting a few new plants to my woodland-themed area, with my gardening kitty and my young pup playing together. The cat is bigger than the pup, and plays very gently. It's very cute, and I can get the occasional good snapshot.
Tramping through a real woodland, finding morel mushrooms, cooking and eating them!

wanna show us some of those pictures? i would be interested. i love learning about other peoples hobbies. Sure but I just don't want to derail the thread with those, but here are some (1 of each should be enough to give an idea, overall I got in the thousands from which I am deleting and keeping the bests). Don't hesitate to click and enlarge, they should be clear.
two Male Mallard ducks:
The one at the back is a gull but the other one at the front is either a female or from another subspecies:
Tree swallows
Purple Finches
Red-winged blackbird
Canadian Goose (head shot)
Cedar waxwing
Great Blue Heron with a small Yellow Perch for lunch
That's not all the species I saw and those are just examples for the last week.
You have a very good eye, for composition and framing. And the blue heron? THAT needs to be sent to a wildlife photo competition. Copyright that one right away.

Well it's copyrighted through the Yourshot National Geographic site (the National geographic site for pictures from the community) yet I'm getting blown out of the water by those who are actually getting published or highlighted in what they call the daily dozen.
My camera is a 500$ entry level (for when you want to start taking pictures a bit seriously) model while some who get their stuff published have the 5000$ ones with the 3000$ lens on them.
All my stuff combined is worth roughly 1000$ (camera, lens, tripod, bag, memory card and batteries) at the time I bought them. So it's good, but not prize worthy yet. If you want to see what gets noted or if you want to be part of that community here is the site (you can scroll down to see the daily dozen and other highlights):
Some people do cheat on that but they don't accept for publishing, prizes or recognition pictures that have been altered in any way or cropped. So what you see are some of the best un-cropped (I never do any work on my pictures) pictures I have. Yet I still enjoy some others that are great stories once re-centered:
So here are 3 American Goldfinch. Bottom left is a female. If you look at her, you'll notice she seems to be looking up, at the male top right. While she looks at that guy, another male just popped his head from behind the tree trunk and is seen with its beak open as if he is surprised or shocked:
Then 16 shots later, you see that the male from behind the trunk moved in closer and is now looking intensely at the female while she seems to be avoiding looking at the male, still upper in the tree:
Seems like this male goldfinch caught his girlfriend looking at another man!
And every now and then I still like to get sparrows, pigeons or even gulls. They are common to the point we don't really care or really observe them anymore but every once in a while I'm still able to get a great shot like this one (where eye contact is made and the light just brings up the details in the feathers):
But of course, I do enjoy the encounters with "special" birds a bit more, like this Great Egret that flew about 15-20 feet from me:
It's in the Heron family and a bit smaller than the Great Blue Heron but it's the same build. Only the colors change.

Okay, so NatGeo is not the only game in town. Check out the SEWE (Southeastern Wildlife Exhibition) and a show in Easton, Maryland that focuses on sea birds. A good friend of mine is a wildlife painter, so I am familiar with these shows. Explore every possibility. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I am fairly certain that each has a photography category. If you have a portfolio, and a body of work available, you could apply to show your work for sale. I am more familiar with the painting side of this, so research well. Good luck! Keep on shooting! The value of your equipment doesn't matter, it's the quality of your work.

mecano04 - Just to reiterate this, "The value of your equipment doesn't matter, it's the quality of your work." Some of the best photos I ever took were with an old Pentax Spotmatic with a one-to-one focusing macro lens, screw-in mount. Bought it used, and it made great closeup shots. Scary, sometimes, if you were pointing at a praying mantis or some other similar critter. I still have it, it still works, but it's rare that I buy film to use it. Digital has made us all lazy.

I'm not sure about their rules and regs, but you might see if there is a rescue group that you could be a foster home for. I recommend limiting to two; they need company. If nothing else, go cruise the shelters, I'm sure they won't mind someone volunteering a few minutes of TLC. Oh, wait, you have a cat, right? Then fostering is kinda out for you, it would be too hard on your kitty. But you can always go window-shopping.
