I thought they never mentioned that in the show? Maggie the Frog told her about her three children and Robert's twenty but nothing about the Valonqar. I suspect you're thinking of the 'Prince-that-was-Promised' prophecy where Missendei noted there was no gender to that noun in high Valyrian, so it could be a Princess.
Note at the moment she said that Arya was a princess--and might be again. I can't help but wonder if the reason Daenerys got such a rousing cheer in the preview clip from the Northerners is she'd already decided to grant their secession due to their valor against the Army of the Dead.
and maggie the frog was wrong , she was wrong about how many children she would have, cersei had 4 children her firstborn died ,maggie only mentioned three , and currently cersei is pregnant with child #5 and i wonder when she told her you will be queen for a while until another comes to cast you down ,... if that was meant first time around when she was queen wife of robert baratheon ,cersei has been queen twice now so the casting down part could have been by margery tyrell tommens wife , cersei was thrown in prison , was tortured and had to do a walk of shame i would consider that the casting down part of maggies prophecy . Maggie might have just been counting the ones who survived infancy, it was depressingly common for babies to die shortly after birth in those days especially.
Getting the fact that Cersei would marry a king and not a prince right and noting the wide disparity between the numbers of their children is strongly suggestive she knew something she shouldn't, she couldn't--at least in our world. In that world it's annoyingly real, pretending differently doesn't change that.

For all your hatred for her, you have a lot in common with the person you think Dany is. for gods sake give it a rest shes a fictional character , you dont even know me, personal insults wont help dany win the throne its not hatred its facts everything i posted is backed up by footage fact is that is what dany does burns people and fact is she already warned varys I am sorry if you took them as personal insults. It was not meant to be insulting, rather it was intended to be eye opening. Often we attribute attributes we see in ourselves onto others. I was pointing out that you are doing just that to Dany, as it appears you are the one who jumps to conclusions Meaning everything that happens on the show you use as some sort of vindication of your beliefs. And hey, I know it's just a show. That's why my screen name isn't based on said show, and only 10% of my posts from the start of this website are GOT related. It is just a show to me.

Book idiots still have to understand that prophecies don't come true. That's why the show leaves them out, by the way. If you're not going to contribute anything of substance, don't even bother responding to me. Their is little of substance to add to your misunderstood book drivel, that I know.

Yes, the wood witch was just a hack taking revenge on a haughty highborn by predicting disaster. It's obvious to anyone with a brain but idiots who somehow acquired the ability to read a book want to believe in all the prophecies they find in it, as if the author was spoiling his own work all along. He is using prophecies of all sorts to show the effect such beliefs can have but this is too smart for the crowd of kids who read his juvenile trash.

I believe Cersei was lying about the black haired beauty. There is absolutely no way the new king and queen of the seven kingdoms had their first born son and every single person didn't know about it. For the Lady of Winterfell, and wife of the Warden of the North, to not know about it tells me Cersei was lying. (Shocking, I know.) And with all the wine this lonely bitch drinks, it is highly unlikely both her and the baby survive childbirth.

It was made clear in the show that it doesn't mean younger brother, but younger sibling (no gender)...it could be Arya, Sana...everyone who is not a first born. When was it made clear in the show? They omitted the whole 3rd part of the prophecy about the Valonqar.

Their is little of substance to add to your misunderstood book drivel, that I know. Even if that were true, Leo, I'll take misunderstood over your existence of intentional ignorance of the show and baseless insults towards everyone here. You don't watch the show anymore. You don't read the books. You hate the author and the show runners. I'm not even sure why you're even here at this point.

And how is it that Cat didn't know?

A bird without feathers. They came to take his body away and Robert held me. I screamed and I battled, but he held me. That little bundle. They took him away and I never saw him again."

―Cersei Lannister to Catelyn Stark You seriously don't think the Lady of Winterfell and wife to the Warden of the North would know about the future king being born? That's crazy talk. They would have sent out ravens. There would have been celebrations. Everybody would know. Especially Cat. As far as the book, I'll let Leo the Liar explain to you how he feels about people who compare the show to the book. And as an additional note, in the book she didn't have a baby with Robert. Your quote is from the show (a Cersei lie.) In the book, she got pregnant from Robert but killed the baby herself. But that's the book. Show Cersei never had a child with Robert. If she had, Cat would know.

I think there's enough grey area to allow for the child being born but not expected to live and Cersei so distraught they didn't want to add to her future discomfort by making an announcement that would haunt her in the future when people tried to console her.

As I recall she was surprised to hear it, but didn't give the impression such a thing was impossible. She knew (in the books) not every family was forthcoming about pregnancies...
Besides, give the devil her due, Cersei is smart enough not to tell a lie that couldn't be true.

What was Cat going to do, question the queen? Ask the King? Ask Ned to ask the King if the queen was lying?

What was Cat going to do, question the queen? Ask the King? Ask Ned to ask the King if the queen was lying? She might have, even innocently, offering sympathies to Robert for the child they lost, or mentioning to Ned who then does the same. There's no purpose to Cersei lying about it, it only potentially could draw suspicion when she does have something to hide.
The show removed several extreme elements from some characters making them less cartoonish and more sympathetic. Thus Shae had a knife and was trying to use it so Tyrion didn't strangle her needlessly, Varys doesn't have the tongues of his 'little birds' removed, Arya doesn't murder a Night's Watch deserter in Bravos, Tysha actually was a whore paid well for her services with Tywin's guards, Qyburn isn't running a grotesque torture chamber filled with Cersei's enemies, Sansa doesn't betray Ned and go to Cersei etc.
Cersei was a prime beneficiary of this treatment and is a better character as a result, I prefer it this way actually.

She was the queen. Even if it got back to Robert (highly unlikely, Cat didn't even bring it up to Ned.) what was the worst that could happen? All Cersei had to say was she was trying to comfort another mother in her time of need. Absolutely nothing bad for Cersei could have come from the lie. And her wanting Cat to lose hope and let Bran die was very much in Cersei's best interest.

And her wanting Cat to lose hope and let Bran die was very much in Cersei's best interest. I don't follow how Cersei's story could have any effect on Bran's health. If Cat did lose hope, if anything it would encourage Cat to resume her duties as Lady of Winterfell (which both Maester Luwin and Robb wanted her to do) which might include investigating the circumstances of the fall...
What it could do is draw suspicion ('why did she lie--and so stupidly?') at a time when Cersei did have something to hide. Your position seems to be that it couldn't possibly be true and Cat would know that which I find incompatible with the fact Cersei would know that too and it would just cause Cat to wonder about her, not 'comfort' her. I don't see how it's all that comforting anyway to tell that story with Bran comatose.
