Is it some twisted modern version of that old Greek practice between brothers in arms? Disgusting.

No, it's two characters who love each other, and more power to them.

Love is overrated. That's what food talks about. What did they use to call themselves? Christians? It's long ago…

Oh, well, never mind. It wasn't so serious after all.

I do not understand why so many viewers complained about this and actually think Brienne should have slept with Tormund. Why? They have built up the relationship between Jaime and Brienne since Season Three. It was well known that they loved and respected each other. Tormund seriously knew nothing about Brienne. He first notices her simply because she is big and he wants her. He never talks to her. He never learns about her. To her, he is a weirdo. He stares at her uncomfortably and says crude things to her. Meanwhile, she has loved Jaime for years.

I'm not one to ship fictional characters, but I was rooting for this one. Too bad Jaime broke her heart in the same episode. Hopefully it will be to wrap his hand around Cersei's neck.

Meanwhile, she has loved Jaime for years. Ti me we have to know Brienne history. She pines for dudes and it usually takes death to end it. To think she would casually disregard Jaime even if they weren’t saving each other during the zombie war would be silly. Jaime is either going to be on the Iron Throne or dead. If he’s dead then there’s Tormund as an option.

It made me see more than ever that he’s going to [try to] kill her. He thinks he’s irredeemable I’m the basis of past things Cersei made him do.

[He thinks so or at least he did them because of her if that will scratch the semantics itch. I think the scene was painted as him essentially being an addict who can’t resist his sister. Like all addicts it’s still usually them who are responsible for their actions which is why he feels he is irredeemable.

Jaime speaks the way he spoke to Edmure in Riverrun, saying how bad he is so she lets him go. Now maybe there's more in the delivery that could allow for a different interpretation but all I see in the text is that he wants Brienne not to fall in love with him.

No, it's two characters who love each other, and more power to them. I don't think Jaime loves her in 'that way' though. I think he loves her as the embodiment of what a person - Knight, should be. In my opinion they shouldn't have had sex.

I can understand when we want young adolescents to not have sex as it could affect their future and personality development. But I do not understand desiring two mature people not to have sex. Given that they are not married and not committing incest or adultery.

I'm kind of confused about Jaime's intentions when he arrives at KL. Is he switching sides again like Bron and will have his sister's back? Is he hoping for one more physical interaction of a sensual nature (barf)? I wonder how Euron will greet Jaime?

Jaime obviously insulted Brienne so she wouldn't go with him to King's Landing and get herself killed. He had just learned that Cersei had hired Bronn to kill him (at least, that's what he was told). Even Jaime isn't so stupid to run back to Cersei after that.

Given that they are not married and not committing incest or adultery. Perhaps I didn't explain properly. I meant that I see their love as the old 'courtly' kind, I have never thought Jaime loved her in the romantic sense, but loves her for what she is - the complete opposite of him. I see his longing for her as him longing for what he has never been but now wants to be - a good person.
