So sad about the lame death of Cersei and Jamie.
Cersei had no cool scheme and jamie did no good deeds for that book.
Rip the show. So disappointed. Although not the least bit shocked

HAHAHA, I told you all the leaks were true, and everything the leaks said happen in episode 5.
This show is gonna end insanely dumb. Be prepared folks, be prepared for a stupid fn ending....and youre all gonna hate it.
I rate this episode a 3, rushed, bad writing and Dany just went mad queen too predictably. This show has fallen folks....
Be prepared for a bad finale, because I know what happens and it's fn dumb....

I have to give it a 6. I can't rate any higher. I've waited 8 years for this and to find Cersei's ending be somewhat romantic makes me sick. I've never seen such a good show unravel like this in the final season. I'll be shaking my head about that for some time.
I will give the show points for the Hound/Arya scenes. That got to me when she thanked him considering their history. And it was great to see him finally go after his brother. These scenes may have been the only good thing about this episode.
Edit: I changed my rating to a 6. The entire thing was unsatisfying.

The show has been shoving clues in our face for 8 seasons that she’s a power-hungry bitch who goes ballistic if she doesn’t get what she wants. One of her trademark lines is “You will die screaming if you don’t give me what I demand!” At what point did you get the impression that Game of Thrones was going to have a happy ending? And why would you read spoilers and decide the show is going to suck instead of watching those moments revealed the way they were intended to be revealed, with the emotional heft they were built up to include? I really don’t get it. The entire reason there is a TV show is so that the writers can lead us through a rollercoaster of emotions over a feast of sensory input, so that the events in the story resonate with us. If they intended us to read a shitty few paragraphs of plot leaks — which omit all the context to what happens — then why make the show at all? Why not just send a brief email to everyone that says: “Season 8: Arya kills the Night King, Daenerys loses her mind and slaughters hundreds of thousands of people while turning King’s Landing into a parking lot. Meanwhile, Jon gets a new haircut, Varys gets a little hot under the collar, and Grey Work plans a vacation to Naath.”

I wish they had bothered to build up Dany going mad. That would have been more fun than her just being the victim of bad advisors and traitors.

Just because they’ve telegraphed something happening, doesn’t mean they earned it. Why don’t you learn what good writing and characterization is instead of using strawman arguments.

Dany officially irredeemable in my book. She could cure cancer and give it away for free, and I'd still be like, "B***h needs to die." That's the reaction you'll see from decent people. Others will keep excusing her.

It was the same for S7, the main argument against them was "too dumb to be true". Then they turned out all accurate except one (Cersei's miscarriage).

Maybe you’d like to share your Littlefinger x Loras fan fiction?

So I don't think we can attribute her death to Jaime if he merely changed her location of death. But even if we give it to Jaime on a technicality, I do wish he deliberately did it. Like another poster said, it kind of feels like his arc went nowhere. Jaime's arc was that of a man who poses, wavers then finds and accepts himself. He resisted the ideology of sheep and died a lion. I'm happy with that. I never had anything but contempt for those who wanted to "redeem" Jaime.

This episode reminded me of Beyond the Wall last season.
I thought the story was beyond stupid and people kept doing things that were beyond stupid, but it was still a great watch thanks to the spectacle.

Great shot Yes, the directing & cinematography this episode is off the charts. No matter what people think in terms of writing and plot, I think it's hard to argue that this is one of the best directed episodes of the entire show. I'll look forward to future Sapochnik projects.

I'll look forward to future Sapochnik projects. ive seen a lot of his filmography and this is pretty much his peak. I assume it has to do with budget although He did an episode of Altered Carbon which had a high budget. Warner Brothers needs to give him a movie of some kind that allows him to keep this up. He’s not a writer so I also think he needs a good storyboard if not a good story and then he lets his creativity take over.

Great shot There were some good shots with Arya later on that I remember actually thinking while watching...’there’s your hero shot’ because it looked made for a poster.

I like Arya and think she’s a badass, but her appearances in this episode were pointless. Added nothing to the story. I disagree. The story needed someone that was likable in the midst of everything (that didn't take part in the actual fighting) to provide an emotional element to it. There wasn't anyone else they could use other than some random extra.

She can’t end up on the Iron Throne because there is no Iron Throne. Arya would never try for the Iron Throne anyway. To seek the throne would be to challenge Jon's birthright, and she's far too loyal/loves him to do that.

Amazing man. Like did you see the first 5 mins of action. Fucking morons Euron & Cersei so confident and the idiot leader of the Golden Company feeling pretty pleased with what was about to come. And then the mother showed her wrath. Fucking show stealer. Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea totally annihilated the Iron Fleet and then the Golden company all by herself. Then it was a cake walk. I mean the first 5 minutes was breathtaking. Misa Misa She's done trying to be Mhysa and being loved. People repeatedly betray her, talked behind her back and made moves against her, outcast her, raped her, imprisoned her, etc. I don't blame her, honestly. Cersei waited until the very last moment to ring those damn bells. She was testing Dany's promise to burn the city, and Dany followed through with that promise. Cersei underestimated Dany. She thought Dany wouldn't do whatever was necessary to destroy her enemies, but she was wrong. She took the city with "Fire and Blood!"

I kept wanting Arya to just piss off this episode. I had no issue with her killing the Night King just had issues with how it was ultimately done. Now it seems her purpose in this episode is to now set up her killing Dany. So, I guess Arya is just going to be just the focus of the finale I guess. I mean, hasn't she kind of done enough already? I liked that Arya was there. Repeatedly she had dreamt of being a soldier, but she really had no grasp of what that actually meant (the sacrifice, the horror, etc.). It was a rude awakening for her. Now she knows the cost of being one, and the destruction that comes with war.
