Just out of curiosity, what are these people afraid might happen if a kid saw pornography?
All of these bans are supposedly to protect young children from being exposed to it. What is the danger exactly?
I fully understand what the dangers are of kids getting their hands on guns, or alcohol, or heroin and methamphetamine. Don't get what the danger is of "dirty" pictures.

Then shouldn't photos and videos depicting murder and other violent acts also be banned, lest they corrupt impressionable brains? What about video games? Shouldn't violent video games be banned?

Most photos and videos depicting murder are usually banned aren't they? As for video games, I think they have a rating system that at least tells parents what they're getting into, so there are safeguards.
