Breaker Morant long overdue a rewatch and a review! 9/10
Sunshine surprised me, I watch films not knowing what theyre going to be about(just know the IMDb score) and I really wasnt in the mood for a 3 hour one but yes I liked it, the story just flew by and era and events interested me. Never saw somebody hosed frozen to death before Bunny Love those b&w detective ones fron the 60's but this was a bit far fetched, I'd only seen yer man in 2001, got a bit of a shock. Breaker Morant, been meaning to see this for years, was on so many of my "greatest movies" lists, and then a few weeks ago it was on tv, love Bryan Brown here, probably the moment he "arrived"

Still not seen The Swimmer, it's a big gap in my Lancaster diet. Do we know why it had two directors? Here is what Wiki says about it : According to Joan Rivers, Lancaster and Frank Perry had several confrontations on the set. Perry was ultimately fired by Spiegel sometime after the first cut of the film was screened. The producers then brought in Lancaster's friend, the young director Sydney Pollack, to salvage the project. Pollack reportedly reshot several transitions and scenes, including redoing the Shirley Abbott scene, with Janice Rule now playing the part originally played by Barbara Loden. According to Lancaster, when the film still needed an additional day of shooting, he paid $10,000 for it out of his own pocket.
