Oh look, he called me a 'heterosexual', I'm hurt! lol Give me a f-in break. Yes, please do give me a f-kin break from your complete and total denial and ignorance. Your response has typically focused on the aspect that is not AS important, as the point being made about your homophobic BIGOTRY. Now, isn't that something that something that should make you feel more hurt in the larger scheme of things? Where does your hatred of homosexuality stem from, if you claim you are not Christian and your warped conditioning hasn't been brainwashed onto you by a sociopathic preacher? A preacher is infinitely less likely to be a sociopath than a sex addict (homosexual ). Jus' sayin'...

" The Latin Bible was not the original and more up to date versions use more reliable texts than the Latin. So over all what you clsim is inaccurate. " And suddenly, you admit to the bible being edited. No clown. A new translation is not an edit. Why do you refuse to accept that? That is confusing. If something is being newly translated how is it not an edit? what would be the point of newer translations except to change things?

A translator has the responsibility to not change the meaning of the text, that should be obvious. Consider the difference between the KJV the atheists' favourite Bible version and the Good news version. Isaiah 51 v 1 starts "hearken to me ye that follow after righteousness" in the KJV. IN the Goodnews version it says "Listen to me, you that want to be saved". The words differ as you would expect from 1611 to 1966 but the meaning is the same.

Nothing like a good gay marriage thread to get the bigots out of the woodwork.
Poor bigots, scrambling to justify their bigotry with Bible passages so they can say 'I'm not bigoted, God is'.

Since you don't have any issue preaching on here, in your subtle and passive aggressive phony way, and you're not far off from being a sociopath yourself, by your logic then, does that make you a homosexual sex addict? I am a sociopath because ___?

And Edits have occured in the different versions of the bible, because of prior errors, translation errors, meaning errors and cultural adaptations you can not deny this. Your own reference can be attributed to cultural and language shift, the translation was done in order to be more comprehensible to current readers. However following righteousness and wanting to be saved to me are not the same thing at all. So even with the best of intentions... meanings do change.

If something is being newly translated how is it not an edit? what would be the point of newer translations except to change things? Translations have never been considered edits except to prove the Bible has been changed. Translations are made, not normally to edit, but to translated into the language best suited for the populace. If people want to pretend that translations are edits that's fine as long as they don;t pretend that the rules or intent of the text have changed. There is little to no difference in translations happening and the intent of the text unless the intent of the text was intentionally changed and then you still have the originals texts to match up to.

That is simply because as an atheist you don't understand the culture involved. Seeking righteousness meant being saved! What else could it mean? Making the Bible more comprehensible is what new translations are for. They are not "edits". I am a translator so I know.

I am a translator so I know. 1- I am not an atheist what on earth would give you that idea? 2 - I also do plenty of translations and I concur that making the bible more comprehensible does not equal edits. 3- however that does not mean that edits haven't been made to the bible in translations because of previous mistakes or altered to fit a culture of the time. If for exemple something was ambiguous or could mean a or b, a translator could make the translations fit more closely with A than B... but who is to say that B wasn't the original meaning?

You don't read what I write do you? I just proved that the bible has been altered. The latin on at the time, was closer to the original than our bibles of today. Have you ever played that game when you sit in a circle and send whispers on by one, you know, I whisper "A black cat" and after i has been passed over several people, you get the whisper "Back at you"? It's actually the exact same things with the bible, the more people that have translated and edited it, the more it moves from the original, colouring the text with the ethics of the time. " The Latin Bible was not the original and more up to date versions use more reliable texts than the Latin. So over all what you clsim is inaccurate. " And suddenly, you admit to the bible being edited. No clown. A new translation is not an edit. Why do you refuse to accept that? And here you start the name calling. Why are you so insecure about yourself? Could you please at least try and behave civilized? Or is it the "christian" way to misbehave? No, it wasn't a translation, it was an edit as the meaning of the sentance was changed.

What type of judgment are we talking about? Because we are asked to call out sinful behavior ...which homosexuality is.
