Nope. That's not what fluent means. Fluent: "(of a person) able to express oneself easily and articulately." "(of a person) able to speak or write a particular foreign language easily and accurately." Nowhere in there does it say to speak exactly like a Native Speaker. Just that you're able to express yourself with no trouble. It says nothing about not having an accent either. As I've said, there are doctors with accents. Yet they have no problem speaking to their patients and communicating what treatments are needed. Sorry, but if I can speak it and understand it, and they can speak and understand me, that's fluency. More importantly, I understand the various sayings and idioms. That's also part of fluency. But did you understand it? Again, which one? Which American should she sound like? A native Brooklyn speaker? A native Texan? A native Minnesotan? I'm curious to see what you think the default American should sound like? It wasn't a joke. Don't be scared of race. It's ok to discuss it. That definition helps me out a lot. If you speak a language with ease you will sound like a Native Speaker, doesn't matter if you conversate in said language if you don't sound like a Native Speaker you are not Fluent. My Answer is the Same WW should sound American Gadot clearly doesn't, it's not hard to understand. IDk . Incorrect. You can speak it easily and still have an accent.
Because you're under the misconception that there's one standard way for Americans to sound. I'd like to know which one you think it is. I'd like to know what you think the "correct" way for Americans to sound like is. Are you sure? You seemed uncomfortable with the fact that mentioned black people and white people sound different. Or do you deny that?

So why exactly do you believe that being a fluent English speaker means she has to sound American? Where is the correlation? For that matter, why would Diana have the ability to change her accent at will? WW has the ability to speak all the languages fluently. Also there is countless media with her Sounding American, that's what I am going by. You sound like you are playing dumb at this point Skaather the second you tried challenging what I said, you already lost. You still have not said anything relevant in your last post. So in your head canon, she has to adopt the native accent of every country she goes to? Ok, so if she's in England, does she have a Cockney accent? Or Cornish? Northumberlan? Bristolian? Or if she goes to Mexico, does she speak with a Norteno accent? Costeno? Bajio? Yucateco? Why do you think there is only one standard accent for any given country?

I never said there is only one way an American should sound and Gadot does not sound like any American whatsoever, asking what Accent I think she sound like is a Straw. IDK where you got this from but it certainly did not come from me "she has to adopt the native accent of every country she goes to?" You are like the 3rd or 4th person to ask me that. Please tell how you get any of that from me saying shes always been depicted with having an American Accent. I am not afraid of talking racist your comment about white and black people sounding different sounds like a generalization Read more: imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/17984/problem-wonder-woman-having-accent#ixzz4eqBtzWaK

Incorrect. Accents are immaterial to fluency. Again, you're confusing accent with difficulty speaking.
If you hear someone with a Brooklyn accent and someone with a Texas accent, they're having difficulty speaking the language? After all, they both have accents.
No, it's not. It's trying to see what you think an American should sound like. A question you refuse to answer. And yes, it did come from you because you keep saying she should sound American. Well, which part of America is American to you?
It's simple. As I pointed out there are many American accents. Which one is the one you think Wonder Woman should have? It's a simple question. Which part of the country do you think is the correct "American accent?"
That shows fear. Or at least blatantly trying to pretend differences don't exist between the two races.

I have no issue with the actress or her accent (although, Linda Carter is a tough act to follow, just saying). I feel like all of her people need to have the same accent for consistency, though.
