Yeah that wasn't great either. Especially because it's the name of an 80s Drew Barrymore movie plus a 90's film called "Far From Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog".
Personally, I'm not a fan of the titles The First Avenger or Age of Ultron.
The First Avenger is as bad as Dawn of Justice. Like they were both just dying to remind us that Avengers and Justice League were coming up next.
Then anything with 'Age of' at the beginning just sounds cheesy to me.
So 5 yrs. Hell So Supes was last in everyone's consciousness through Smallville or the Brandon Routh epic. Even more, the superhero landscape was sparse There was The Spirit (2008), Dark Knight (2008), Hellboy II (2008), Watchman (2009), Scott Pilgrim (2010), Punisher: War Zone (2008), The Losers (2010), Kick-Ass (2010), Green Lantern (2011). Spidey 3 was 2007, the reboot was 2012. XMEN Last Stand was 2006. XMEN Origins: Wolverine was 2009. So the general public largely was unaware of DC or Marvel vs stuff they licensed out. Marvel not only was establishing their cinematic universe, they were branding THEIR brand vs the other studios. Their big guns were licensed out to others & largely run inti the ground so they were stuck with a bunch of characters the general public didn't know. Branding Captain America the First Avenger made the general public aware this was one of their heroes who was going to appear in Avengers & drew their eyes to a hero most did not know. Some older people might remember him from WWII, but otherwise he is pretty unknown. Comic book fans are pretty much it. Captain America was "unknown"? That's just dumb. He's been around for 80 years. Anyone who is vaguely aware of super heroes knew who Captain America is.

But yeah I understand WHY they called it The First Avenger, but it doesn’t make it sound any less silly. Plus, is he even The First Avenger? Maybe the first Earth born Avenger, born about 80 years before they were even a thought. Thor was born long before he was.. Tony, Natasha, and Hawkeye all knew about The Avengers initiative before Cap, AND Captain Marvel was the reason they were formed. The title is arguably misleading.

A Hawkeye movie is definitely the right call. Just a year or two ago Marvel fans would've dismissed the thought, but with Cap and Tony gone, fans are going to be craving that old MCU feeling again. The power of nostalgia will be strong with that one. Isn't that a Disney+ series and not a movie? It is a Disney+ series.

So basically the Hawkeye series will be MCU's rip-off of Arrow? It’s supposed to be a 10 episode (I think) miniseries that explores what Hawkeye was doing in between Infinity War and Endgame.

Some surprises: Phase four is only two years and five films? Surprised they didn't announce Black Panther 2 or Guardians 3, let alone the FF or X-Men. Mahershala Ali as Blade is brilliant casting, can't wait to see that. Of course its release date is 'TBD' so I shouldn't hold my breath.
The MCU has such a radically different feel from the Infinity Saga. Many of the legacy characters have been relegated to tv while the films are going in all kinds of new directions, and I'm excited about the variety. Eternals should be fun (Gilgamesh finally made it to the big screen!!!), I have a hunch Shang-Chi will be awesome, and Black Widow finally gets her backstory 10 years and a character death later. I expect big things from Doctor Strange 2, especially with a title like that. (Back door introduction of mutants or the FF?)
Way early but I'm assuming Phase five will be Black Panther 2, Blade, Captain Marvel 2, Guardians 3, maybe a FF flick and some kind of mutant film, whether it be X-Men or whomever. Not sure when to expect a Spidey film since Sony has its own agenda and the first two were only two years apart.

So basically the Hawkeye series will be MCU's rip-off of Arrow? Is Clint Barton a billionaire vigilante that learned his skills while stranded on an island for 5 years? Arrow is more like the 2006 BBC's Robin Hood than Hawkeye will be like Arrow.

So you're saying Robin Hood was a billionaire? Or are you saying Hawkeye is a rip-off of Robin Hood?

So you're saying Robin Hood was a billionaire? Or are you saying Hawkeye is a rip-off of Robin Hood? Every archer hero is a influenced by Robin Hood or Odysseus.
Oliver and Robin hood are both archers that returned home and became vigilantes. Hawkeye works with the Avengers, a peacekeeping force recognize by the National Security Council i.e. not a vigilante.
If any one of these 3 is a rip off of another, it's Green Arrow that's a rip off of Robin Hood.

No, Hawkeye is a paid assassin working for a covert agency (SHIELD). And Hawkeye is a rip-off of Arrow.
