Bess Flowers (1898–1984) Actress Queen of the Hollywood Extras Believed to have been the most prolific actress in Hollywood having appeared in over 825 films including 25 Best Picture nominees, of which 5 were Best Picture winners in a career lasting 41 years. She was affectionately known as the 'Queen of the Hollywood Extras'. Queen of the Dress Extras She was a "dress extra", meaning a bit player who bought her own clothes to wear in scenes. One exception was her first role, in which she played a model wearing only a silk cloth in "A Woman of Paris: A Drama of Fate" (1923). Here's the lady to look for
How's about we see how many images of her "uncredited" appearances we can find. AND her occasional credited roles as well ! Please identify the films.

Bess Flowers played the harried secretary in the newspaper office from It Happened One Night but the only picture I found of her in this Oscar winner won't post on this site. What keeps some images from appearing here?

The picture that wouldn't post for me was a reverse angle shot looking back though the door at the editor as Bess is leaving the room.

Seen twenty-nine of her films evidently. Not at all surprising : "She appeared in five Best Picture Academy Award winners: It Happened One Night (1934), You Can't Take It with You (1938), All About Eve (1950), The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) and Around the World in 80 Days (1956). In addition to those five films, she also appeared in 20 others which were nominated for Best Picture: One Hour with You (1932), Anthony Adverse (1936), Dodsworth (1936), Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), The Awful Truth (1937), One Hundred Men and a Girl (1937), In Old Chicago (1938), Love Affair (1939), Ninotchka (1939), Heaven Can Wait (1943), Watch on the Rhine (1943), Double Indemnity (1944), Mildred Pierce (1945), The Razor's Edge (1946), Father of the Bride (1950), A Place in the Sun (1951), The Robe (1953), Giant (1956), Witness for the Prosecution (1957) and Judgment at Nuremberg (1961). "Of the films listed book "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" (edited by Steven Jay Schneider) she appears in 33 films, more than any other person."
Have seen 17 from this small collection.
