Nice statement game from Embiid after he got roasted. 38 and 13. Sixers give the Celts their first home loss of the season. Good game and a statement win by Philly. A couple of questionable calls at the end that went Philly's way, but still the Sixers earned the win. As good as the Celtics are, they have no answer defensively for big guys like Embiid, especially with no Marcus Smart in the lineup. The Celtics desperately need a big man, especially one that can play some tough Celtics style defense. I am still thinking right now we might be looking at Bucks/Clippers.

Cavs won their first in... like... a fuckin month. I'll probably only get to say that 15 more times this season at the most.

For years - I wanted to try to get my hands on Love - but we're so big now (we have Horford/Harris amongst others depending on matchups playing the 4) we don't need him. There's been whispers that Brand has been checking in on Jordan Clarkson. I'm not familiar with Clarkson's contract and how the salaries would need to match up and what the Cavs would want in return. Since you're in rebuild mode I was thinking a young player with some upside and maybe a couple of 2nds and cash. We have a kid we drafted a couple of years ago Zhaire Smith in the first round who missed his first season due to illness. He's incredibly athletic/gifted but has been asked to play out of position transitioning to the pros. We stuck him in the G League this year to groom him more as there just wasn't any room on the roster for him. Wonder if a package of Smith, maybe Bolden and a 2nd could get that done if the Cavs like Zhaire. I'd like to get a combo guard at either the deadline or buyout period.

I probably would have been screaming if it were the opposite - i.e. if this happened against the Sixers. I'd probably have to see it again. The inbounds pass to Brown where both he and JRich fell to the floor? I would have thought Stevens would have challenged that but I think he burned his challenge earlier in the game. At first I thought Brown slipped but then after the replay it kind of looked like JRich had discretely hooked him a bit as they both fell - Iverson used to pull this move off at times for inbounds steals to perfection back in the day. My jaw kind of dropped a bit when I heard no whistle - especially with the game being played in Boston - but hey - I'll take it

Dion Waiters suspended for 3rd time this season - this time for insubordination.
I think he's as good as gone now. I don't see the Heat putting up with this much longer.
He's from Philly - wonder if upper management had a sit down with him and gave him one of those '0 tolerance' contracts if he'd be interested in coming come.
Guy can be a microwave scorer off the bench and we need a SG who can fill it up from the outside.

Embiid obviously needs Shaq and Chuck to stay on his ass. Barkley ripped Simmons during halftime last night too. Was nice to see - maybe it will light a fire under him. Stated when Embiid is out of the game - it's time for him to dominate. Kemba was matched up on him at times and Simmons wasn't taking advantage of his height advantage in iso. He's so gifted and talented he makes things looks so easy - but disappears at times. Both Boston and Toronto 6-4 in their last 10 - waiting for Miami to falter too - can't see them keeping up this pace - then it turns into a 2 team battle - Sixers and Bucks like many predicted.

We've taken sole possession of 2nd place in the East and now have our sights set on the Bucks The Sixers have the 3rd most wins in the NBA and the 3rd best winning percentage and it still seems like a let down. It's hard to explain but I'm disappointed that they aren't doing better.
I'd never thought I would say this but I am growing tired of Embiid's act.
I know I'm in the minority among Sixers fans but I think the Sixers are better with Simmons on the court and Embiid off the court.

There's a lot of people that feel this way - that in order to succeed you need to split up Embiid/Simmons. Pair Embiid with a more traditional PG - on that Sixers that would be either Neto or Burke - and Brown has been experimenting with JRich a bit in certain lineups - sort of what they did with Butler last year during the playoffs. If you remember - Simmons was such as detriment in the halfcourt game when the game slowed down - they'd let Butler handle the ball. There's been whispers it's one of the reasons why Embiid is miserable this year - he was close with Butler and JJ. You're not the only one tired of his act. I've grown tired of it as well. He reminds me of an attention seeking sulking baby at times playing the victim role when he's been a trolling bully for years - all the talent in the world - if he was on another team I'd put him there with Kyrie and KD for my most disliked players. If you notice - he also contradicts himself in interviews every other sentence. One second he's stating he's going to stop trolling and grow up - the next second he's stating he needs to go back to his old self having fun - and when he's having fun he's dominating. He handled the Shaq/Barkley critique perfectly though saying he agreed. Hoping he matures and is around here for the rest of his career - but just hope he finally grows up and shuts up and dominates every night like The Greek Freek - because if he wants to - he can.

The combined winning percentage of the teams they beat in this 17 game stretch is .388

That's good to hear/read - I didn't realize that. I really thought they'd miss Brogdon and Mirotic more. Can't wait to see the Christmas Day game. Hoping they throw everything and the kitchen sink at The Greek Freek - i.e. are constantly doubling him and let Middleton / Bledsoe try to beat you.

34 Raptors NBA record divisional home win streak continues vs. Atlantic visitors. That's incredibly impressive. Wonder what the record is. I know you've owned us - but I would have figured Boston may have knocked you off recently up there. Sometimes it happens - just an off night - you drop a game to a complete dud as well and lay an egg - i.e. vs. the Nets or Knicks.

As a Warriors fan during a hopeless season, I've selected the Heat as my team to support this year.

Uh oh.
Trey Burke's father posted on his Instagram he wants the team to trade his son.
Kyle O'Quinn 'liked' the post.
Burke and KOQ were free agent signings this past year for the Sixers and have been getting limited run.
Burke can be a liability on defense which is why I'm guessing he's seeing limited time - as far as KOQ - I figured they'd use him more to rest Horford/Embiid and he'd be seeing a lot more minutes.
