Awesome game last night between the Clips and C's. Every once in a while an NBA regular season game is still worth watching. I love the core group of this team, glad we didn't mess with the chemistry by making a panic move at the deadline.

No. I don't think it's as big a factor in today's NBA. If we're moving the ball and hitting shots, we can play with anybody. Saw a stat last night that cracked me up. C's are second in the league in defense and they're giving up 106 point a game. That's second best in the NBA?! Boy things have changed, even in the last 10 years. My biggest concern with this team is health. We never seem to have everyone healthy at the same time.

So at the All-Star Break,
West Teams vs East 162-135 .545 East Teams vs West 135-162 .455
Top 8 seeds overall are fairly close West 280-155 .644 East 274-161 .630
Each of the top 3 seeds in the East have better records than the same seed in the West, but the West is better at the other seeds.
#8 seeds are Memphis (West) at 28-26 and Brooklyn 25-28
There are only 2 teams in the West below .380, 8 teams in the East

Basketball, like just about every other sport out there, is played in a much dumber way than it was for such a long time. If a guy the size of Joel Embiid played the way guys like Wilt, Kareem, and Shaq did, then of course the Celtics would have a very hard time against the Sixers. However, guys like Embiid want to be Steph Curry, which sure seems like a big waste of being a huge guy.

All Star break and the most exciting part of this season has been Zion Williamson. He has lived up to the hype.
My Celtics are still playing well, but I don't honestly seem them making the finals, though after last night's game I'd love a Clippers vs Celtics finals. What was remarkable about that game was I think there were four traveling and three palming violations called. Lebron committed at least two worse traveling violations the previous night and wasn't called.

Calls like that only happen in Celtics games, that's when the refs actually pay attention to shit like that. When the Lakers are involved, those kinds of things are ignored. As a Celtics fan, you should be fully aware of this.

They're just practicing their moves just in case the Clippers play the Lakers in the playoffs and they want to gift wrap it for Lebron.

If we're talking about NBA Finals being fixed in terms of who the NBA wants in the Finals lets talk about the East as well.
I agree the NBA is salivating at the thought of having the Lakers in the Finals.
But do you really think they want the Celts?
Now yes - the Lakers/Celts rivalry is arguably the greatest in all of sports - but what does this Celts team bring to the table in terms of drama/entertainment and intrigue?
Zilch. They're as vanilla as their coach. They're as vanilla as a ham and cheese sandwich.
We live in the world of the Kardashians.
Know who brings intrigue, drama, entertainment on and off the court and has 2 stud superstars and not just a collection of 'good players'?
That would be my Philadelphia 76ers my friend.
The NBA wants a Lakers/76ers Finals.
And a Lakers/76ers NBA Final is what we will get

Sure sounds like a ratings dud to me. I mean, Celtics/Lakers.......it's not like there is any history there or anything. I'll tell ya one thing, junior. Of the 5 championships that Kobe Bryant won, the one that meant the most to him was beating the Celtics in 2010. For him, that solidified his place amongst the true legends of the NBA. Beating the Sixers? Isn't that like beating the Nets or something??

Joel Embiid/Ben Simmons/A Kardashian - we've got Will Smith, Kevin Hart, M Night, Meek Mill all hanging out in the front row.
We live in a world of reality TV/entertainment where drama sells.
What do your vanilla Celtics bring to the table?
We're Hulk Hogan while you're Dean Malenko.
If you don't know who Dean Malenko was - I don't blame you. He was considered a very good technical wrestler - but is widely considered to be one of the most boring bland vanilla sports entertainers in the history of professional wrestling who had '0' charisma or personality - kind of like your Celtics

Has Dean Malenko won more championships than any other wrestler in the history of the sport? And what is your deal with the Kardashians? You're not a 12 year old girl, are you?

That's newsworthy to today's causal fan and a ratings winner as we see her in the stands cheering her man on.
What's the biggest storyline up there - what color tie Brad Stevens is going to wear on the sidelines?
We're newsworthy - we're front page material winning or losing - we're a lightening rod of intrigue - you're the hidden article on the back page at the bottom next to the horoscopes, weather and horse racing results - I mean - you're a 'cute' lil team up there but not a ratings winner and bring squatolla to the table as far as entertainment.

But wasn't Lakers victory in 2010 a big farce?

I can't remember last week let alone 2010.
What happened?

Is that the year Kendrick Perkins was injured for Game 7 and Pau Gasol won Finals MVP?
