Spicy P with an average looking game - still nets 34pts, 18 boards. I think the team will be fine with him as centerpiece. Right now I'd say he's at the top of the league's second tier of stars. Freddie career high 34. These Raptors will need, & want, some form of underdog mentality to rev it all back up. That's what helped before Kawhi, & should again now. Wait a minute, 34, 18 and 5 is an average looking game? My 3rd round pick is looking pretty damn good if that's average.

What everyone meant was he wasn't lighting the game on fire... & he landed with those numbers. The upside is if he starts to take over.

Tough game to watch. A 'grind' - first half was horrid - not to beat a dead horse - we need a knockdown shooter - shot 2-14 from beyond the arc in the first half - that is beyond putrid. That being said - this team is 'long' and is going to be an elite defensive team. Think they're going to be a throwback and grind out wins and win with defense. Embiid only played like 23 minutes - had an off game (still put up 15 pts and 13 rebounds in only 23 mins)- and we were still able to rest him for the 4th - good sign - shows how important Horford is (would like for KOQ get more minutes though to rest Al and keep him fresh like Embiid). Ben had a nice game - all 16 shots from inside the paint again though - would like to see him take a few a game from mid range even if he bricks them just to draw defenders out. That being said - this was one of his best games vs. Boston. Next up - onto Detroit

I know it's the first game of the season, but that was rough. I wasn't surprised by the outcome but Carson Edwards disappointed in his debut after a fantastic preseason. He'll have better nights. This team is only going to improve as they become more acclimated to each other. They won't contend this year, my guess is they top out as a 4 seed and with some scrappy play they could make the conference semis. Elsewhere in the league, I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw Kyrie scored 50 last night and lost. Typical Kyrie, making it about him no matter the game result.

2 great games tonight: Bucks/Rockets Clips/Warriors looking forward to Jazz at Lakers tomorrow. would be awesome if the Lakers got whipped and started the season 0-2 and we already start hearing the 'sky is falling' out there

Uh-Ohhh... Maybe it wasn't CP3 after all. This could be something to keep an eye for the rest of the year to see if they mesh/click Harden shot 2-13 for the game (14-14 from the line though) Russ shot 7-17 for the game (7-11 from the line)

The Rockets had control of the game until the 4th, when their playoff brand was exposed once again - no defense. Their run away & hide early with 3's won't cut it against teams like the Bucks. Maybe Marc Gasol could help if they give the Raps good value.

Embiid out tonight vs. Pistons - sprained ankle
Butler to miss road trip for the Heat - birth of child
Don't really agree with this - he missed the first game for the birth of his child. I get that. But to miss two more when they're just starting the season? I can see this if there were complications with the mother mother/child - i.e. that gets a pass - but this reeks of Jimmy being Jimmy since he has a bit of a reputation and he just got that large contract.

Disappointed the Kings, Knicks and Pels are winless. Trae Young looks incredible - can't wait for Monday when the Sixers play them.

Warriors are getting destroyed again, by the Thunder. 112-81 with 4 1/2 min to go. Deangelo Russell ejected.

Can't believe they beat the Bucks. Wonder if the Bucks are missing Brogdon - they could very easily be 0-2 right now. no middle presence at all.

Can't just be the absence of Klay and the departure of KD (both of which are huge) Apparently they have no bench (Iggy gone too). Have you been able to watch live yet? Was curious if D'Lo is clicking or if the combination of him and Steph isn't necessarily meshing. Rumors of D'Lo being on the trade block come February if it isn't working out.

I thought the Lopez Brothers were supposed to fix that to an extent. Never checked to see if Dragan Bender made the final roster - guy must be a stiff. Kid is like 7'0 and was drafted extremely high a few years back but has been a bust thus far.
