I believe the film actually got a sequel? But not sure if that one has much to do with the first film, beside in having the same name/title. Still, I kind of want to see it one day, as I like these low budget sci-fi/horror 80s releases.

As I understand it, none of them really have anything to do with one another.

Ah. I never knew they made it that far, but I guess the first film was quite a hit when it was released. That, or it sure found an audience through the magic of homevideo market much later on.

If you look closely at the glass tank in the picture. There’s something on top which gets a memorable (larger than life) scene in the movie. Xtro? Was that on the video nasties list? It is. Your turn. Yeah it landed on the list. Supposedly it was in the secondary group, which were never prosecuted or officially cut/or banned like the first 39 films.

The sequels were unrelated and boring Aliens (Xtro 2) and Predator (Xtro 3) knock offs. Pretty generic stuff without the original’s surreal craziness. Not missing out on much.

Not missing out on much. Thanks for the warning. Even so, I am kind of curious to maybe enter at my own risk, maybe checking out if someone has uploaded them to Youtube. As I am sure not gonna blow out lots of money on either of them, at least for now that is.

Hm, snow, crashed car, older guys? I try my "luck" with Ghost Story (1981), but I guess that might be way off. Still, the first one I could think of, when I saw your image above.

That's not it, but I can give you the hint that I was focusing on a cold, snowy movie because we've been getting snow here in in NY area. Also I can tell you that it's more recent than Ghost Story.

I have to post a film still now, right? Probably too obscure that one. Go with this one instead...

Hm, the military/helmet uniform, and looks like some kind of a pitchfork? Well, not really a common murder weapon, I recon, at least in slasher films of that era. But well, the one I do remember featuring such a nasty thing, was I believe in the 1981 horror movie The Prowler, which I think goes under another name/alternative title, but have forgotten that one.

Right on the money. Rosemary’s Killer was the alternate title. Been awhile since I’ve last watched this slasher. I remember the deaths being really effective and downright mean-spirited. Joseph Zito for ya. But the character dramas in-between those set-pieces less impactful.

Joseph Zito for ya. But the character dramas in-between those set-pieces less impactful. Have not seen it either, for a long while. I remember my Blue Underground DVD came totally uncut, and that the gore effects were pretty damn brutal at times, but as you brought up, all the drama (I believe some kind of a love triangle took up a lot of time) in between, made it a rather uneven adventure. But I might give it another go, as I recently had a far more successful re-visit with Terror Train (1980), so hopefully The Prowler might be more suitable now, than than the last time. Okay, I might not be able to check up on how things are going for much longer, or if anyone gets the right answer, at least not until morning, the next day. My bad, but I just could not resist the chance to get it right with The Prowler image. So I will upload a few more extra images, but also not trying to make it too "easy":
