Kim Newman was quite big on it as well, which helps as regards the British and Irish genre fans. Interesting, he's a person who knows his horror. He was a bit more bullish about the creature design than I was, but yes he certainly knows his horror onions and reviews horror with good balance.

Yeah the creature design didn't give me the wtf or wow factor but I'm forgiving on low productions especially ones with decent story lines and actors. But then again I was the same with the creature in The Ritual and others seemed to love this design so I'm not the greatest barometer on these matters.

Makes me feel a little better to have two other guys fail at 30 with me. On the other hand, I don't think I've ever seen someone watch 54 movies and still lose. That's rough.

Always found Creep to be a touch over rated, while I simply adore Severance with a passion that baffles most of my friends! "did you just look at my cock?" Black Death I also greatly enjoyed, but when I showed it to the lady I was dating at the time it was released on home formats - and her daughter, they were very much about it being anti-women, misogynistic even! Didn't see it myself, and I'm normally good with my feminine side... There was a good run for Melissa George, I was happy to see her name on a horror cast list, same with Radha Mitchell who was running at the same period. We had two sexy and gorgeous Australian scream queens, but George has sort of retired to TV work and Mitchell just does "also ran" movies these days. George is excellent in Triangle, multi stranded perf. I'm watching it again later before reviewing it (doubling up with The Amityville Horror remake for a Mells Bells double bill. Severance is a fantastic film. Danny Dyer's finest moment Mitchell did churn out some gems. Always had a particular soft spot for RogueIf you haven't seen it track down George in A Lonely Place To Die - a British wilderness survival thriller that I personally would count in a horror challenge. It also stars he excellent Sean Harris (the Creep himself) A Lonely Place To Die - Watched it last night, good call, worth it for the cinematography alone actually! A genre blender, and of course it has steals from some notable classics such as Deliverance and Southern Comfort etc , but who cares, it's put together very well, is suspenseful, cool camera angles, rock face thrills and it has Melissa George being spunky and sexy, and yes, Sean Harris simply doesn't know how to be anything other than being moody and intense - and hooray for that!

Well you can console yourself with knowing you gave me a worthwhile recommend that I used for the challenge, and that also thanks to you I have an Xmas Horror recorded for the yuletide bloody season Cheers mate but it was easy giving that recommendation as it's a crackin' film! I like the fact that it is under the radar with regards to cited films giving it a somewhat cult status. I imagine that, given the accents, it's something only known to British and Irish viewers. I should have recorded it myself but no doubt the Horror channel will repeat it. A Christmas Horror Story (2015) - I liked it enough, was pleased that it didn't just take a straight anthology story narrative, that they were all interlinked in a fractured way really pleased me. I particularly liked The Changeling section, very creepy!
