Though a lot of people are saying this is the "Force Awakens" of Terminator which I'm assuming is like that film in both the good and bad ways. So while we'll get something fun and entertaining we will also get something that is safe and familiar.

Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are back for a movie that's less reboot than do-over, and the first vital 'Terminator' sequel since 'T2.'
EMPIRE MAGAZINE:
Easily the third-best Terminator film, which is more of a compliment than it sounds. It’s great to have Hamilton back in this role, but she’s ably matched by Reyes and Davis.

Molly Freeman - Screen Rant
Terminator: Dark Fate is a perfectly exciting popcorn flick, one that expectedly focuses more on thrilling action than thoughtful discussion of race and gender in modern America. It is, otherwise, an incredible return to form for the franchise. Dark Fate is the Terminator sequel fans have waited nearly 30 years for - and, thankfully, it's well worth the wait.
The WRAP: Never feels like a nostalgia cash-in or a cut-and-paste job made by focus groups and committee. This story actually demands to be told, and it gets told with precision and skill.
SCREEN CRUSH: Generating dread out of an apocalypse that's 20 years behind schedule is no easy feat, but Miller, Cameron, and their writers pull it off.

Rotten😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 10% behind T3! 60% now. I’m beginning to think Tim Miller is a bit overrated. I think the only reason why Deadpool worked was because of Ryan’s involvement and the fact it didn’t feel like a studio movie. Fox didn’t even want to do a Deadpool movie. I don’t know how much say Miller got to have in this movie, but the previews never wowed me like it did for some people. Let’s face it. Terminator 1 and 2 are the only good terminator movies. Everything else was below par. |

I'm a little disappointed with how some of the effects looks. T2 looks better and it's like 30 years old. But the performances looked solid imo. I might have to check it out.

I'm hearing Joker is the movie of the year/top 20 on IMDb etc and I just spotted its only 8% ahead of Dark Fate.  |
