These are my individual team power rankings of the top four;
1) New Orleans Saints - have played the toughest schedule. Keep winning despite injuries to key players. More experience than the 49er team.
(Keep in mind - this makes three years in a row the Saints are arguably the best team in the NFL at mid season. But for some reason, they have failed in the post season twice. What would you rather be - the best team at mid season? Or the best team at the end?)
2) San Francisco 49ers - two impressive wins against mediocre teams - the LA Rams and the Carolina Panthers. But the rest of their schedule has been easy. No injuries. Young inexperienced team.
3) Green Bay Packers - great quarterback, but have been inconsistent.
4) New England Patriots - super easy schedule. But they are reining Super Bowl Champions
(Traditionally the Pat's screw around in the first half of the season. Get it together in the second half, and kick ass in the playoffs.
They benefit every year from a terrible division. And this year their regular season schedule is a joke.
The Patriots won't be tested until post season.
For N.O. Saints fans - Once again, what would you rather be? Best team at mid season? Or best team at the end?)
What do you think?

Is this a serious question? What sane person would choose the former option?

The Saints have played the hardest part of their schedule.
The 49ers still have to play the hardest part of their schedule --- Seahawks twice, Ravens, Packers and Saints.

The Patriots still have to play the Ravens, Dallas and Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes should be back by the time they play the Patriots.
I guess the Texans and Eagles could give them a ball game.

Is this a serious question? What sane person would choose the former option? It's called "a rhetorical question". Look it up. We have to consider the source though. You said the Saints went 13-3 and missed the playoffs, which never happened. You made up a story about the Eagles firing a coach after he called a pass play, which never happened. I made an extensive evaluation of the Patriots results over the years, proving the Patriots even at their best, frequently lose games within their division-- and you still insist they coast to the playoffs (and apparently through the playoffs?). You want to sue the NFL over a bad call. We can't assume you're making a rational point at any time. You brought this on yourself.

The Patriots have to be #1 in any Power Rankings. I am sorry, but they do and it is not even an argument. They are the defending champs and they have yet to lose. They have an incredible defense, Big Bill, and Brady. Can you honestly tell me that the Saints or Niners are better or would be favored in a game against them?

The Saints, Niners, and the Packers would be favored in a game against them. These power rankings are just a report on how well these teams have played so far. And how good they have looked. It's not a prediction of how good or well they will play in the future. If and when they play better or worse, their rankings will change. But so far, the Saints, the 49ers and the Packers have played better and looked better than the Patriots. The Patriots won the Super Bowl last year. These power rankings are for this year.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but the Pats are sporting one of the best defenses of all time, and that alone is enough to put them at number 1. It's easy to look good when you are playing the worst offenses.

And as of week 9, the 49ers remain undefeated, including beating an apparently mediocre team that the Saints couldn’t beat.

The reason the power rankings change from week to week, is because teams change. The Saints are not the same team they were in week 2. Just like the Patriots are not the same team that won last year's Super Bowl.

I haven't ranked them based on improvement or deterioration. Those two teams are ranked by strength of opposition. And degree of victory. The 49ers have crushed teams. The Pats are barely beating bad teams. That is why the 49ers are ranked ahead of the Patriots.

The Saints are a wholly unsuitable option for number one in any power rankings. You might even call them un-sue-table.

And they have continued to win in spite of key injuries. They are also well balanced and deep. Great defense. Arguably the best defensive line. Great offense. Arguably the best offensive line. Great quarterback, great running backs, and arguably the best reciever in football. Good special teams. Arguably the best punter. Good coaches. (Maybe great coaches.)
