I'm not that much a fan of White Zinfandels either, just too sweet for my taste.

Ah'll be away up to LIDL at the weekend to get some more of that Ratsarse Rasteau that Carl recommended a week or so ago. One of the best reds I've tasted in a long time. Not a plonk to accompany your fish & chips nor your roast beef and two vegs. It's for afterward when you fuck off to listen to your favourite music or try to count the stars slowly... with a big cigar if you smoke them and are allowed that indulgence. If finally, they come to cart you away and you have an empty bottle of Rasteau beside you and a big smile on your face, the world will know...it's not all bad.

It’s pretty decent I agree. I liked the one you recommended on here even more though, the Trivento Reserve Malbec. Tesco has cut its price from £8 to £6. Maybe because Sainsbury’s had been selling it for £6. www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/278363743

OK, so after I do LIDL, I'll get to Tesco and some Malbec. There are a lot of Malbecs around, not all of them are good, but with that label, you know you getting the good stuff. Cheers

British wine...
Anyone tried it?
I saw some yesterday, wouldn't have thought there is the climate for the grapes to ripen properly. Hardly Mediterranean at these latitudes 🤷♀️

Going fusion for lunch today...
A 2018 fairtrade Bonarda-Malbec from a co-operative in the Andes.
'A wine of impressive depth and complexity'.

Not that I am very knowledgeable about wine or anything, but I don't think I've ever seen any sparkling red wine outside of Italy.
Banfi Rosa Regale is pretty good! It's an Italian red sparkling that's pretty widely distributed. @ned I'm a gonna keep an eye out for this, cheers 👍

Hardly Mediterranean at these latitudes 🤷♀️ I almost bought a bottle of the English sparkling white in Wetherspoon's yesterday. It's £19.99 a bottle, but I checked on the price in the shops and it's not much cheaper than that in Tesco. Next time.

Checked that link... Love this review 😅 "Blooming blimey it goes well alright with garlic bread so it does oh heck taste that garlic it tastes hella red oh my god if I was Dracula I wouldn’t be able to drink this wine simply because of how good it makes garlic bread taste I mean Jesus Christ garlic bread is good but with this wine it makes it taste super duper. To reiterate, garlic bread and red wine is super good and each makes the other taste super yumzo and oh crimminy cripes yummy yummy in my tummy flip flop flap" Either this wine is really good with garlic bread, or they were really pissed?

Yeah, I haven't tried leaving wine 😉 I remember my old man always had whites chilled straight from the fridge... Reds he decanted and let 'breathe' at room temperature before drinking.
